QUOTE(rayloke @ Jan 11 2010, 10:29 PM) Agree with fyire, those arent too expensive. i m not sure about ace hardware, but i used to get one roll of brass wire from Home fix (1 utama), less than RM10. The only bad thing is, not that much choices of thickness, and those r not straight (gulung). i think u can go check out multifilla in belakong, or if u really want a one stop solution, i think u can pm tkting; he stays in sunway. mebbe u can ask for his advice what to get too. as i know he carries, drill bit 0.3mm n above, which is kinda hard to find from normal hardware shop; and straight metal wire too. Huhu, welcome to the problem solving satisfactions modeling world ~( T3T)~ i actually dun wan to step in to this world unless necessary. what u guys previously talked about in this thread made my head spin . now i gotta made my head spin again with the broken connector. instead of this brass wire can i use the aluminum coil? i still have some left from my high school days on Kemahiran Hidup lesson does tkting sell pin vise as well? planning to get whole package from 1 place. lazy to go here n there

QUOTE(rayloke @ Feb 1 2010, 12:07 PM) Yes, please do clean your parts, especially if u have sweaty palm, (like me). In the picture, it's a ultrasonic cleaner. It's a device with high frequency vibration. Main purpose is to clean hard-to-reach parts. Usually used by electronic workers (Hand phone shop). It just vibrate n cleans. Dry paint bottle soak in thinner i think it very easy to clean. Cost around RM100 (more or less). Can find in pasar road pudu. .... i thought cleaning will destroy the kit. but thx for the info. will wash my upcoming gundams b4 assemble. but during assembling i still sweat on the parts... how to wash? throw whole gundam into washing bin after assembling?

Bro, do read the tutorial. please read.....
If tutorial ever ask u to do a layer of topcoat AFTER applying decal, i m guessing it wont be any problem.
Or, easiest way, u can cut part of the decal out, the unwanted parts, apply on a piece of unwanted plastic, then lightly top coat and see what u will get.
If it's sticker, don't even worry.
As for gaiachronicler, commonly there r 3 types of stickers and decal in gunpla; sticker, water slide decal, and dry transfer decal.
sticker: Dengeki hobby is teaching is almost every issue. do not apply sticker on dry surface. once it sticks, even if u can pull it out again, the sticker is so distorted and is as good as waste. apply a little water on the surface of the kit first, so u have a little flexibility to readjust.
Water slide: this can adjust and readjust. even after it's dry, u can put a little water and it MIGHT still strong enough to be adjusted.
Dry transfer decal: this is the most beautiful, but it's one shot dead or alive thing. no adjustment at all. always sifu rayloke to the rescue never play with dry decal until your a pro at decals eh?

does paint stripping strip the plastic to it's base colour or strip it of all colour, back into factory mode? after reading abit about past question on stripping paint in this thread. then i discover this webby some1 posted this a while ago the dude uses oven cleaner LOL... i have tried once using my mr. hobby leveling thinner. on a part where i had to strip a whole yellow strip of paint from the part. it actually made the part abit white n it does remove the paint (although it's after several times of rinsing it with thinner, very expensive by doing this). is what im doing called stripping paint? QUOTE(stephen5577 @ Apr 2 2010, 03:12 PM) Thanks for the guide guys~ Hand paint is seriously hard as its very sticky i went bad the last time i painted a clear part with clear blue can see 3 layers uneven surface as u said. "sticky" that time the room is air cond paint dry too fast for me to make a even surface need buy modelling thinner then clear blue.. i tried using lot's of thinner n less clear blue for hand painting. like 1 drop of clear blue : 3 drops of thinner i use a large fine flat brush, take a dip & paint 1 time through. wait it to dry then add another layer. i sweat alot during the process as i cant open any fans fans make dust stick to paint btw i planning to install a exhaust fan near my window to suck out air. maybe that will make my room cooler.. im planning to make the MG red frame to gold frame. i saw a guy at youtube painting his PG red frame using russian gold colour something. he said doesnt even need primer, he said the paint is quite durable then he added a clear yellow to it. but i guess he uses airbrush to get the nice look how if i hand paint the model using brush? i know it will be hard. i wont probably even get a even surface on all parts of the model » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by gaiachronicler: Apr 3 2010, 11:07 AM
