I just bought a guitar and wanted to learn guitar basics by myself.
Is it hard to learn the basics without taking any guitar lessons from outside?
Last question, can i learn basics from the internet or books?
thx.

i learn by myself also...
i just use the chord book which costs around rm2.50 and browse some guitar websites, that time youtube not famous yet, plus i dun have internet that time.

one thing to beware is that you might have some bad habits while playing the guitar.
sometimes, those are hard to correct.

it's recommended if you can afford yourself for a lesson or just learn for basic.

Don't listen to Wreckens......

If you're a fresh beginner, please go to a PROPER guitar teacher/school and learn the basics.

If you get it wrong the first time, it becomes a habit...... That's my advice.

I've seen alot of young players that played for 1 or 2 years on their own, and although they can play the basic stuff, their finger position and habits are all wrong.

If you learn the proper methods and techniques from a PROFESSIONAL, you can later learn on your own once you mastered the basics.

For me, I'm STILL learning from a pro, because I started all wrong, and I'm paying the price in my playing. Learn scales, learn the proper chords, learn the finger positions, learn the strumming techniques, learn the plucking techniques.....

It's VERY important to learn even the EASY things RIGHT.

it only took u 1 week to correct ur mistake
is nt that long
make ur finger friendly with teh guitar took more then 1 month
rather than learning 1 chord per week at yamaha that cost 70-100 bucks per month
imo the money can be saved to be use on higher grade lesson
if u got the money then of coz go for it(of coz its better when u pay) *duhh*
for me its nt much of a difference

its nt really hard to learn in a proper way
learn by urself doesnt mean u learn all those by urself
get some advice from experience people and go through gutiar article on the net
watch video on youtube
from what i did before im really statisfied because the archievement i get is all from myself
thats why i get really attract to guitar
basic things are not really hard
that is why its called basic
if u think u hv the commitment , why dont u go for it
no offence
its on an oppinion from an intermidiate player
