I heard latest from junior. at PFCC Puchong aka Malaysia IC Design Center, for fresh graduate probation salary including allowance (don't care degree or masters):

Skyechip: 7k to 8k
Maistorage: 6k
Starfive: 5k to 5.5k

which means Intel is underpaying at Penang. lol. similar to Oppstar and Infinecs.

Don't really have good experience with the India site. They are good at shouting and escalating to get everybody to own their issues but rarely good enough to work on their own problems. There are good ones but most of my experience are them shouting for people to solve their problems.

Don't think you will find many companies that offer WFH still. Industry recognizes WFH is no longer efficient and beneficial and are hauling people's ass back to office.

If not finish then RTO get pushed back until whenever its completed lo. Corporate Service says building will be ready in November so we will see la  biggrin.gif Plus Intel already have agreement to give up portions of PG14, PG15 and PG16 to Altera by 1st September already. So will get kicked out regardless.
But pity Kulim folks will have to enter office starting 1st Sep regardless.

They said Nov....but i really doubt it. If anything, Q1'26 seems a little bit more realistic.

yep. agree with pillage2001. many companies already want RTO. WFH may apply for senior folks who has a proven track rocord with the company they work with on a case by case basis.

so changing job just to avoid RTO is not a wise move. you should change job to take up more challenge and aim for higher position and salaries.

I usually lose interest in the interview if the candidate asks if can WFH or not. lol.

intel should be more transparent on how many headcount is under Intel Product and Intel Foundry.

I believe there's some documentation somewhere internally in the company but it's not talked about often enough.

As for CPM, all of it should be done by this week unless there's a special circumstance. This is true for Engineering dept, other dept would do it on different timelines.

As some indicated, this time, the cuts that happen are abit painful as people who are actually delivering work are cut as compared to the past where there were bottom performers.

Well from what I have seen, the low performers on any given grade level are the ones actually shown the exit first.

Then only senior engineers. Cuts are done based on critical skills mapping and project requirement this time around. Yes there are people that were doing work also got cut but usually based on several factors.

1. They have hit their grade ceiling and unable to progress further. In the mean time, their skillsets are not unique and there is someone on the team with a lower grade that can do their job.

2. Projects got ZBB'ed. And again, their skillsets are not unique and people in the same department owning other projects also have the same technical expertise.

Kinda sucks and ironic. Means that if you want to keep your job, don't teach everything to your juniors if you are a high grade IC but not at PE level.
*
Low performers were mostly impacted last year as there were several rounds of CPM.

As for the last statement, I won't really agree to it but I would say, make sure you work on things which are relevant and make sure you do it well cause even if the project you're working on gets cut, if you're good, they won't let you go.
