just a feedback about Altera. my alma mater is having collaboration with Altera FPGA, but recently they started using Lattice FPGA. and the conclusion is Lattice FPGA is much better.

also, my friend in Intel recently promoted to G6 (got >20% salary jump) said Altera is in deep shit wor, outside sounds good but inside lots of bad things. he said his friend, a senior also came back join Intel from Altera.

btw, i heard Altera is offering 20% salary appraisal split into 10% each in 2025 and 2026. is that true?

Lattice FPGA is light and low-power. The software compiles much faster too. but Quartus still win hands down on features and usability

What's CPM ? Same as VSS ?
*
VSS is voluntary. You offer to take the package and leave.
CPM means you have been identified.

The likes of micron/amd/infineon. But granted these people are really experienced though, I think the bar is high in SG.

Oh saw the person you mentioned Chipz is in the thread.
Hey man, mind sharing how does the grade mapping work between Lattice vs Intel/Altera? Thanks!
*
Don't quote me on this, but the grading system is similar to the old Altera's (before being acquired by Intel). Grade 3 is like Senior, Grade 4 = MTS, Grade 5 = Senior MTS

Intel Stocks peaked to $32.3 thanks for Jensen from NVidia.
Hopefully this funding will make Intel relevant for the awhile before AMD makes the next move.

Seems like x86 still have some juice to milk out before Apple with its Macs slowly eating marking share.

Leaking inside Intel Building news.
Alterans in Intel PG14/15/16 will no longer have full access to the buildings and facilities starting Sept 12.
Limited access to Labs, and PG 14 Cafe, PG15 L2/L3 offices, other return back to Intel.

Alterans employees are no longer able to access PG 12-PG 16 shuttles... Or use other PG12/7/8 Buildings and their cafes...
Unless maybe registering as a visitor accompanied by an Intel staff?*

No idea how security works now.
*
I heard the gym now belongs to Intel. Alterian can no longer access it.
And is this week where all employees start going back to the office?

Despite leaving Intel, I still have vested INTC stocks from RSU and ESPP. Those were grated at the price when INTC was at highest, around $60. Still a bit to go
