If only Sony can be as aggressive in securing Exclusive Game Titles instead of firmware updates, I’d be a happy camper. It seems they are just forcing these updates down every other week to solve the previous shitty update. You know what? This is a ploy to force people to adopt to the 80Gb Playstation 3 instead of going for the cheaper 40Gb one. Damn you! Sony! Damn you! Done ranting, downloading now …

yup. I totally agree. when PS3 was first announced, they had good games that WERE Exclusive to them. DMC4, Assasins Creed, GTA4, Monster Hunter Online 2, Resident Evil 5...now?Even FF13 is multiplatform

they REALLY need to throw mad bucks to secure titles. PSONE and PSTwo won because, they had a GREAT library. They were not the best in hardware, but their lineup were impressive. Sony needs to wake up.They have to throwtheir samurai like bushido arrogance away. World spins on money, not loyalty.

C'mon guys....nowadays...to make a game they need 20-40 mill...and god knows how many copies they need to get back teh money that they spent...

No matter how much money they throw at 3rd parties dev...it still kenot match the money these dev can get if they go multiplatform....Like FF13 for example, If FF13 go multiplatform...they can easily sell 5 mill copies to the xbox people...that translate to 300 Million USD....Even MS kenot throw that much money...And they can make an extra 50 mill by accepting the bribe money from MS...even though from the start they are planning to make it available for 360 when they develop the crystal tools back during GDC 08...here I think MS is the stupid guys since they paid for nothing.....

MS is also smart since they released the 360 1 year earlier and made it cheap enough....they managed to get a lot of people buying their console....since dev only make games for the console that have the highest install base....that why we see a lot of games for the 360...

This time around the landscape changed a lot....we have 360 very popular is the US and PS3 in EU/Asia and Jpn owned by Wii....so dev have no choice but to make games on all three platform to get the best return...if not their share holder also will marah them...that's why we see Monster hunter now gone to the Wii since that's the game most popular in Japan...and Japan Owned bu Wii

Sony is better of spending their money on their own studios game...this way they can ensure it stay exclusive....and don't you guys realised that PS3 have more exclusive that 360?

And I'm really proud of the PSN games compared to Live Arcade games

Only thing Sony have to do is sell more PS3 and ont's PS3 is owned by more people then only more games will be developed for it.

I think it's safe to say that most of the games will be multiplatform because the world's console install base is evenly split into 3 consoles...so no need to feel bad about it and better to get used to it...

only those camera (PS3 EYE) PSN games have some settings problems so those must buy according to your region.

some guys in the US are claiming 5mins download and update. damn them and their western broadband companies... long live tmnut!!! I'll take 5hrs download at 7kbps over their 2mbps speeds anyday.

Hey, I'm just curious, but would it be possible for someone from LYN who already downloaded the firmware update to mirror it on his/her own hosting site as to help the others who are struggling with the download? Or is it illegal/not advisable? I'm thinking of doing it to help my friends who have slow connections at home/office.

actually its not that hard, unless you areupdating using the ps3 itself. just download the update using a PC, copy it using a thumbdrive/PSP and update your PS3. Of course, programs like Download Accelarator Plus is an added advantage, I dled mine using pc, in 20 mins time.

Update : Updated my console yesterday only thing which I found has improvment is the XMB loads faster in game. XP

So where's the globe thinggy? No where to be found.
In fact, didn't notice any changes at all. Am I missing something here?

i work in infineon MElaka.. but not for long.. the dl speed here is amazing.. sometimes i have to limit he speed.. at 128 kbs ...

if go overboard can reach to 300kb/s and sometimes in Mb/s damn they are fast

to dl the updates... i prefer dl at company.. go home and install it.. simple
