Please do reply if you are infected. No chats please. The purpose of this thread is to gather info and come out with a logical summary of the problems. We would need at least 10 respondants. Appreciate the view.

1.Did you play pirated DVD movies?

2.Did you play pirated music CDs?

3.Is your media (blu ray movie, PS1, PS2, PS3 game, cd audio) in a good condition?

4.How long usually you play games/movies per week?

5.Did you take out the media after the session?

6.What do you play mostly? Game for PS1, PS2 or PS3? Movies DVD, movies blu ray, audio CD?

7.Are you experiencing extraordinary heat from your PS3 regularly?

8.What is your PS3 model? 20/40/60/80

*for PS1 and PS2 games, this will only involved games with media, not bought from PSN, for stock 60,20 and 80 gb machines.

bumping this thread due to recent occurences of defects. pls contribute ur info. I hope this thread gathers data on which kind of PS3 suffers the most, and what condition they are they subject to.

1. Were your PS3 close to big speakers so much that it suffers vibration from the loud noises?

could b cause of the region disk? which I don't think you would overlooked when you buy it~...plus shop mostly sell asia/jp BD disk

Sadly I told muchi before, mine is a asian PS3 and i can play R1 movies...
Seems like only a fraction is region locked no?

I ain't sure about this.

My lens got busted after 1 month of purchase.
Had to ask my friend who works in SIA to return it to Sony Singapore from Melbourne for warranty sleep.gif

Uhm, mine was is a first gen system 60 GB. Started crashing with GTA IV. I use to play pirated stuff on it, but stopped after Crystal told me that it could ruined the lens.

My system is now dead (red light flashing) -- see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efHALkyDH64

I returned it to Sony Singapore and they gave me a reburnished system. Will be getting it back this weekend and will try it out.

After i send them to the shop. They told me that they didn't cover the lens problem. Now i'm clueless and broke. Plus i hate the shop. BIG TIME. sad.gif

lucky still under warrnty, claim in spore, ready in less than a week, lense replacement

my ps3 is 40gb.so far everyday playing coz BARU BELI MEHHH.
but around 3-4 hour per sesion.about heating,GOT COOLER FAN (FOC).
taruk je lah kat blakang ps3.

never & ever playing dvd @ vcd.except 4 ps3 game only.
put cover on ps3 to protect from HABUK HALUS tongue.gif

So, leave comments on this video if you need assistance, and i will post more GTA4 related videos. Rock-star better come up with a better patch that actually does something and fixes the freezing and the system crashing! Lol.

I think my ps3 just died off yesterday..Was playing fifa09 then suddenly like hang.so restart game.then ps3 made some code sound like that..then autorestart..then gone liao..now cannot detect the BD disc liao... any idea ???
