Exactly what happened to me few yrs ago... They will let you go even if insufficient fund,
However upon your re-entering, Be prepared to face S$10 penalty for insufficint fund & wasting your ~ 1-2 hr at the autopass office for settlement & reloading |

I though the front pg procedure already very clear??
ERP is for those wanna enter Business district which is at S$5/day for foreign cars . Amt deducted from your autopass upon exiting SG. However entering CBD during weekend no ERP. The toll is actually causway or 2nd link highway toll where bothe M'sia & Singapore also charge (Both share the bridge & causeway kua.. VEP- This is SG road tax for foreign cars. However they gave 10 days free every year except weekend.. So I think this is the best i can summarissed liao |

Aiyo...My dummy guide also fail again!! haizz..
VEP is their road tax & u will be automatically given 10 days free ..so why so worry unless u enter SG frequently & more than 10 days?? ERP is their penalty system to reduce numbers of cars to central business district (CBD) during office hour/weekdays. Any for M'sian cars, they will detect based on the powderfull cameras/sensors on the entry point. You will be charged flat S$5/day irregardless of how many times to enter & amt deducted from your autopass card upon exiting SG. Long time ago, I used to stayed at JB hotel & travel via bus to SG but the time wasted during Morning rush hour, on my later trip, I rather stay at SG easier...Esp those clean budget hotel like Hotel81 (Rm100). Free parking. & cheaper than JB hotel (Crystal Crown - RM140)! |

M'sian car ERP will be charged upon you out from Sijiapor..Just swip your autopass & erp charges will be auto deducted (S$5/day) -free on weekend. No such thing as seperate ERP tag for M'sian car.

The ERP is diff from Singaporean cars..We M'sian cars charged flat S$5 irregardless of how many times you enter CBD..You can enter 100- times per day & yet still charged at S$5..however weekend is free..but I'm not sure the actual timing duringh weekday..probably after 70r 8pm on wekday will be free too...They detect by the car number everytime you passby since you dun have the smarttag thingy...
Once you out at the S'pore custom, you just swipe the autopass-lah..it will charge you the Singapore causeway/2nd link toll in addition to the ERP or even VEP if you exceed 10 free days of stay in SG. (SG Roadtax for M'sian..not cheap ~ S$30.day!) |

I suspect the ERP overhead gantree having some form of powerfull chip detector or even powerful camera that can detect any M'sian cars passing by liao.. & thus, easy for them to detect upon exiting..Anyway..Sinkapor Govt very fair for M'sian cars wan..only charge S$5/day whereas their citizen it's not S$5/day but counted by numbers of entry..haha

Only those in Geylang are in red light zone. otherwise..no. Anyway, Geylang & little India opposite Sim Lim plaza are the areas you really can find cheap budget hotels (Geylang) & hostels (Little India)
Although Geylang is very notorious and lotsa pro & ah kuas lurking around the roads at night...It is not a problem. You can even roam that area at night..really lively and the hotel81 is suprisingly clean. & cleaner than lotsa 3 stars rated hotels in malaysia! |

In Singapore go for those electronics which you know in Malaysai comes wth Import duty. Camera/ IT related items are Duty free in Malaysia & therefore the pricing is almost similar 7 sometime more expensive in SG.
Only those electronics wth import duty in Malaysia but almost nill in SG is worth..for eg..LCD Tv, GPS & etc |

Perhaps you can try hostel isntead. There are few that offer private rooms for 4-5 & wth own bathroom too..
For eg..I found this one right at Bugis village Nite market opposite Bugis Junction & MRT - Quad sharing private ensuite: http://www.bugisbackpackers.com/ourrates.htm Check more of these hostels but not all comes wth private room or what they called "Private Ensuite" http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php/Ch...untry.Singapore |

Joo chiat hotel81 tristar is closer to MRT Paya Lebar. Only 600m away compare to Geylang Hotel81 which is abit further at ~ 800m from Al-Junied MRT.

Can update later too although I did that everytime I booked. For eg..early this Morning I booked Saigon but my passport will be expiring 2 mths b4 my trip..just update using current passport nia & thereafter closer to the date, go and renew & back to AA website to update new passport no.
If no passport yet, just use your IC 1st or just key-in dummy number. |
