Wow 1st timer to foreign country detected
Anyway, there are 3 nearby MRT passing thru Suntec..City Hall (just walk thru the underground mall), Espanade & Promenade. If u dun like MRT u can use the bus or taxi too. & the visa & atm..sure why not..they will very happy accepting those thing..more income to the Singaporean banks.. QUOTE(qwer312 @ Nov 15 2009, 11:12 PM) Hi, if i want to go Suntec, what station should i stop if i go there by KTM from malaysia? Need go through MRT too? And any restriction like money amount and things that i should not bring in singapore or bring back malaysia? Is visa card and ATM card i use in malaysia able to use in singapore? Thank for the advice |

If your hotel is in Singapore, easier if u just drive in & park at the hotel. Malaysian are given ~10 days of free entry excluding Weekendwhich is free. & during weekdays, entering CBD is only S$5 unlimited...weekend is free...
Parking at JB is not cheap unless u stay in JB hotels, that's diff story. QUOTE(starzz @ Dec 4 2009, 02:07 AM) |

Certain ppl prefer nite life, clubbing & modern shoppings rather than relaxing & happy moment in luxury resort in Bali, Phuket, Maldives or even Redang...
Singapore will be very tiring honeymoon..after shopping no energy for the nite liao...haha |

Esplanade area..I think there are no budget hotel/hostel
But u can find budget hostel surrounding Little India opposite Sim Lim Plaza area.. Just check wth hostelworld...For hotel the cheapest is either hotel81 or Fragrance hotel groups.. Their rate slightly more/less RM100/nite but mostle located in Geylang |

I think u should refer to those online maps such as http://maps.google.com/ or streetdirectory & etc 1st to get a clear idea of the location..Otherwise, investing in GPS gadget will be much better..U can't get lost.
Geylang to Explanade is ~ 4km away. u can take the Al junied MRT from Geyland to Explanade MRT station..Bus, try checking wth the local there.. |

Actually the registration card thingy is not really necessary but once in blue moon they will ask esp 1st timer applying for the SG touch & go card. For sure they will ask for your renewal of road tax slip and if you dun bring both, they still let you go & ask you to bring the road tax renewal slip in your nxt visit.
Driving during peak hour for m'sian is cheaper than Singaporean bcos irregardless of how many times you enter CBD, you still be charged S$5/day upon exit (You swipe your card at the SG side of Causeway & S$5 will be charged/weekday entering CBD). During Weekend, it's 100% free. BTW, on SG roadtax, M'sian are given 10 free days excluding Weekend to enter SG without any roadtax burden. Oh BTW..Ensure sufficient S$ inside your card bcos, there was one year I kena saman S$10 for insufficient fund & they charged me the nxt following trip I entered SG...haizzz |

Toll towards JB is ~ RM40++ so 2 ways ~ RM80. Petrol for the distance of ~400km will be ~ RM60/way so RM120 for 2 ways...In Singapore, expect more CBD toll of S$5/day if weekdays ~ etc..So better budget ~ RM300 for toll & fuel only

Just drive -in only-lah no need anything except for 1st timer, you need to stop at the custom cum the Singapore Touch & Go complex adfter the immigration to apply for their version of Topuch & Go (I think they called it cashexpress or something). (You probably wanna bring your road tax slip & reg card incase they ask (Although I dun think necessary0.
Thereafter top-up the S$10 to the card & u are good at driving in to Singapore....Free 10 days roadtax for M'sian exc weekend. Weekday, entry to CBD is at S$5 & chargeable upon exiting Singapore by swiping the TNG card (Ensure sufficient cash inside) |

I'm not sure whether Singapore JB border 24hrs? Normally I enter & out either Morning & night.
U can check earlier posting...or use the search function below on the borde timing. Anyway entering Singapore is very easy. The only cost is the parking fee & also the S$5 daily toll to CBD. (Except weekend) That you need to worry. Even parking at any flats & residential area you need to pay & it's not cheap. I remember parking at Sim Lim palza & kena ~S$6 for just ~2-3hrs parking.. Lucky the 7-11 can reload the touch & go card |

Yeah. The S$5 ERP charge once entering CBD will be automatically detected by the powerful overhead cameras & once you are out from Singapore, you onloy need to swipe your autopass card & the S$5/day will be deducted together wth the causeway toll charges (I think ~S$1.20 or more??)
