Sure thing. Too bad I'm only gonna be there for a day (in November so its still a long way). I'll probably be taking the MRT for the whole day so I'll see how efficient it is compared to our LRT. I might also take a taxi and see whether they're as corrupt as ours.

you are surely gonna be disappointed with this one. their taxi driver will state in their lights a certain location if they are changing shift, else no matter where u wanna go, they have to take you not like in KL where u have to ask before you board the taxi. and all their taxi run on meter and i tested with 5 taxis before, all from my house to my company $8 only. mayb some get $7.80 if the traffic lights are green. personally i think KL taxis should really learn from them.

Personally, I do not find GSS that great, mostly stocks for clearance kind.

I would rather go for Robinson/John Little sales, esp worth it for member.

No, there is Transtar TS8 that operates past midnight on Saturdays and Sundays, but since the 24th is a Friday, there are no public busses or trains operating cross-border after midnight.

You need to reserve an authorised taxi that can cross the border, but are you rich? It will be extremely expensive!

Transtar has busses going from KL to Sentosa every morning at 8.30am. Extremely value for money also as they only charge SGD12. Website is www.transtar.travel

No need reserve, just go to Queens St near Bugis Stn. Only need to reserve if you need them to pick you up. Price is SGD45. MRT should be operational past midnight on Christmas eve, so I think taking the MRT after your countdown is not a problem. Just give them a call to be certain on how they operate on festive occasions, maybe it will be different? Number is +65 62967054

I am planning to visit Singapore at the end of 2010.
My main agenda to Singapore is to visit the Universal Studios.
I am planning to stay there for 3 days 2 nights.

I seek your kind advice on:

1. The best travelling method from Malaysia (Kuala lumpur) - by bus, train or car or flight?
2. The best travelling method when I am in Singapore?
3. Which affordable yet comfortable hotel (less than RM200) to stay that is the nearest to the Universal Studios?
4. What are other attraction in Singapore that is in every tourists' must-visit-place list?
5. Is it safe in Singapore? Have you ever being robbed or snatched or conned while you were in Singapore?

Thanks!

If u confirm coming to SG by end of this year then wanna go universal studio, u need to book the ticket in advance and the price is S$72.

1) For me, i will take flight, fast and easy, depends on the price also. If u take coach, need 5 hours time, then maybe will jam at custom JB and SG.

2) Of cause mrt and bus.

3) Rm200 hotel per night, i think quite hard cause mostly hotel here is S$1xx per night, unless u go those "ahem" hotel..

4) This is depends lo, like sentosa, merlion, the sand...

5) SG 100% safe than M'sia, so wont worry about this.

1. Take a flight if you don't like long traveling times. Book on Jetstar. I got my return tickets for just under RM130 but of course you would need to pay for transportation to the airport and spend some time waiting. Aeroline busses is just as comfortable and you can sleep throughout the 5hrs journey.

2. MRT and bus. But i find the taxi not that expensive. Rates start as SGD3 but avoid peak hours from 7-9.30am and 4.30pm-7. something like that cos the surchage is 35%.

3. You can stay at Le Peranakan which I find it pretty nice and clean but it's not near to Sentosa. You can always take a bus there. www.leperanakanhotel.com

4. Definitely the shopping. Ion orchard is a nice one to start with! visit the Marina Bay Sands area, check out the 1-altitude bar on rooftop of One Raffles Place building which gives you 360degrees view.

5. it is damn blardy safe! i had no problem walking alone on Orchard even at midnight.
