Muntari seals Inter switchQUOTE Sulley Muntari has completed his move to Inter Milan from Portsmouth and has signed a four-year deal with the Italian champions.
The Ghana international established himself as a key member of Harry Redknapp's side following his £7million move from Udinese last summer and helped the Fratton Park side lift the FA Cup in May.
Muntari emerged as a target of new Inter boss Jose Mourinho last week and has now sealed his return to Serie A for an undisclosed fee.
His arrival looks to have ended Mourinho's interest in Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard this summer, with the club insisting that there will be no more new arrivals before the transfer window closes.
Painful
Lampard, who has one year remaining on his current Stamford Bridge contract, had been strongly linked with a move to the Giuseppe Meazza, but the Blues rebuffed all offers for the England international.
Inter director Gabriele Oriali said: "Muntari is the last buy.
"Now we will work on trimming the squad because Mourinho wants 22 players and three goalkeepers. There will be some painful goodbyes." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3878303,00.html

Van der Vaart set for RealQUOTE Real Madrid will complete the signing of Rafael Van der Vaart next week after negotiations are concluded following their game with Hamburg in London, according to Marca.
The Spanish giants have lodged a new bid of 10million euros (£7.8m) and expect that to be accepted allowing talks to begin between the clubs and the player's representative.
With Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival from Manchester United looking increasingly unlikely, Madrid have turned their attentions to other players after Bernd Schuster pleaded with the club's hierarchy to add to his squad.
Van der Vaart has been on the club's wanted list for months, but with all the focus placed on signing just one player Los Merengues are now having to push on with Plan B.
The Holland international recently expressed an interest in joining the Primera Liga champions, paving the way for an approach.
"If I leave Hamburg it will only be for a big club like Real Madrid," said the 25-year-old.
Relented
Hamburg meet Real Madrid in the Emirates Cup at Arsenal's stadium on Saturday and then play Juventus on Sunday, giving Van der Vaart two chances to showcase his talent to Schuster.
Ramon Calderon has backed down over his plans not to sign anyone should Ronaldo not be available and relented for the sake of the coach who asked for new faces to freshen things up.
According to Marca, Hamburg have decided to sell and will use the money to find a replacement and, after turning down just 6million euros (£4.7m) last week, are expected to accept the improved offer.
Schuster is believed to have asked sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic, on 10th July, to do a deal with Hamburg after initial contact was made and a deal appeared to be possible. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_3885970,00.htmlMalbranque undergoes medicalQUOTE Steed Malbranque is undergoing a medical at Sunderland ahead of a proposed move to the Stadium of Light, according to Sky Sports News.
The Black Cats have already secured deals for Teemu Tainio and Pascal Chimbonda after bidding for four Tottenham players earlier in the month.
Younes Kaboul remains a target for a number of other Premier League clubs, but Sunderland now look set to complete the capture of Malbranque.
The Frenchman has already discussed personal terms with manager Roy Keane and is now in the process of finalising his transfer.
If he passes his medical he could be expected to put pen-to-paper on a deal in the next 24 hours.
Malbranque spent two years at Tottenham after joining from Fulham in 2006, and last season he was a regular on the left of midfield. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3886910,00.htmlThis post has been edited by unknown: Jul 30 2008, 09:08 PM
