Added on July 28, 2008, 8:26 amDon't know why my car consump more fuel since last 2 week.

I have reset the meter reading include trip meter after refueling to full. I pump full tank(still have half tank left), rm50 and the trip mileage 206km. FC reading 9.8L/100km

Yesterday went to refuel again, rm68 full already, trip milegae is only 239km ! FC reading
2 9.9L/100kmI think it gone haywire, yesterday clocked almost 80km, a quarter of fuel gone(25% of fuel needle moving) sweat.gif  wink.gif

Have to send back to PESC again..d@mn.

Ok here's how you should actually calculate the FC.

Which means you have drove a total 206km & car used up RM68 of fuel or 25.2L.

It work up to RM0.33/km / 8.17km/L or 12.2l/100km.
Is high indeed but since its new car..let it run till 2nd service to see the real FC.

BTW, the fuel gauge on all cars is not accurate. So dont ever that the conservative & old method to calculate the FC..such as pump full tank then drive till fuel goes empty ..stuck on teh road to see how far it travelled. Very conservative method. Use the method I thought you & is accurate & reliable & convenient since it doesnt wait till complete empty tank. BUT YOU MUST CONSISTENTLY PUMP TILL CLICK OF NOZZLE ONLY. Start there end there. rclxms.gif

After warning lights up...due to uneven fuel float gauge, it doesnt signal right as it depends on one drive...if you are driving in the highway, you can drive more , it will be much less if you are at City or town drive.

Just to say...dont rely on the warning light. It paint complete diffrent readings, thus inaccurate readings on your FC.

So the most convenient method is fill up full tank (till auto click nozzle)...use up ..then fill up till full tank. Start at full tank & end there. You can even fill up anythime...but its the 2ND FILLING of the loss fuel IS THE ACTUAL FUEL LOSS OR CONSUMED DURING THE TRAVELLING DISTANCE. So placed the lost fuel against the KM run.

SO SIMPLE....

Layman understanding ...... you fill up a glass full. After 1 hour you discover the glass left with 1/4 full....which mean if you top up subsequently , you will fill up 3/4 full right...so conclude the loss of water is 3/4 over an hour period.

SOOOOO SIMPLE EXPLANATION...yet some still use...duh, I fill up so much can run so far ah...

"ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT TIPS IS TO FILL UP WHEN YOUR TANK IS HALF FULL. The reason for this is, the more fuel you have in your tank, the less air occupying its empty space. Petrol evaporates faster than you can imagine. Petroleum storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the petrol and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation."

Pluck from the above.

Here's the reason why you guys must fill up whenever your tank almost left half or 1 quarter not until its empty tank. Thus strongly recomend guys to use my sytem of fuel calculation. Try understanding what I have relate ..its soo simple & easy yet convenience. Fill up anytime even empty tank & yet get accurate FC result.

should be l/100km which means how many liters of ur car consump per 100km travel
so 8.2 to 7.8 is decrease in Fuel Consumption
*
Less is better if its L/100km

Another tips...try washing with mild soap at the wiper..you will discover it wipe better. Perhaps you could also get this lubricant which cost about RM6 which you can apply on rubberised joints etc such as auto -window.

While shopping at one auto accesories outlet , I stumble on this particular rim cap which cost only RM10.00 per piece.

I remember someone did ask.

I was also interested on the addition rear chrome strip (actually for Gen2, boot handle side) to beutify the car-S. I adore Chromes..It cost about RM30.00. What you guys think...??

Good to be upgraded.... its will be look like PERSONA smile.gif

mine already Persona. The Chrome strip is near the handle edge. So adding to the car will see two strips...one at the original centre , while the addition is at lower base between the boot & the bumper. You can see at some gen 2. Just above the plate. Guess it looks nice...but worry it spoil the original Persona look.

Also wonder if number plates available in chrome as well. blush.gif

Wa... Can touch up like that??? after touch up the place wil it easly can notice??
*
Hiya...only for small hairline scratch only ma. Not for big dent or badly damage surface only. Sometime the front got splinter cut from the falling pebbles of the moving truck..thus applicable just to cover up.

Look at the bright side...at least all are not loss, if your car suddently require just small touch up like some car "kena" ziz-zag "Z" by vandalism or caused by angered driver who thought you park his parking spot or envy of your nice new car. blush.gif

*
Ehem....I dont quite understand the Auto-Up & Auto-Down thingy....I tot my car able to wind up & down easily with the press & pull button near the arm side both driver & rear seat??

Press...the window goes automatically down, whereaes pull the same button & it goes smoothly up..???? All 4 side are with this function button. My car is M-Line. blink.gif

Oooh...likely to increase in all car price. Not just Persona. Proton's will up its price by Rm3k.
You can get assurance from the Sales Exec.

Was out shopping the other day..got into the displayed Vios & the Sales exec informed that the price remained for till July 08. All Toyota cars will increase by August starting with Vios with an increase RM3k.

Price of steel gone up significantly. Price of rubber gone up too. So is Plastic (PVC, resins etc) as following the oil price. So tell me which part of car is not make of such substance materials.

Anyway..just wait for the federation to decide come this meeting on 25th August 08. blush.gif

Hi guys, My Persona got strong vibration at accelerator pedal between 2500-3000 rpm. What could be the problem ha.....?
*
Something to do with the drive shafts rubber absorber thing which is missing. Some persona came with it but many not thus result a bit vibration when u accelerate > 100km/h or 2,800 rpm. Heard Proton Edar will add this into your drive shafts..other appointed workshop or perhaps Eon dont. This rubber thing is available at Gen 2 or most car but not on Persona. Go check with Proton Edar SC.. I donno what it call on the absorber thing that was included in the drive sfats to minimise vibration especially to the pedal.

Havent rectify mine but will do that the next service. Is your SC an appointed one...tell him about the absorber rubberish thing he will just go...???????????? clueless.

That one is driveshaft boot cover la... my car already have. Balancing and alignment pun dah buat.............
*
Mine none...but what do you mean by boot cover? Beleive it is cloesly call dampener for to dampen the vibration.

Notice most of persona missing this. How come you got it at yours?? Sure or not?? Probably you identify the wrong one. Go check it out again.

The boot is the rubber casing that protects the universal joint from sand, water and other foreign material that may ruin the cv joint. It does not work as vibration dampener/balancer.
*
Thanks bro...this clear my doubt.

Another suspect is...izzit the porblematic torgue face by Campro engine. Probably..the IAFM encounter it by puching it up, thus sudden jerk. I got the same problem as yours ut somene mention about dampener on the shafts.

thats not dampener ah...so no point for me to force them to add it into my shafts then since it doesnt rectify the vibration feeling.
Don understand why it call BOOT COVER. Don make sense.

so anybodu know for sure where this klang-ing sound is coming from?
*
Heard from my SC its to with some spring coil which doesnt have this dampener unlike Gen2. He just drew me this coil thing & state that ussually a dampenenr is place at the top...but Persona cut off the usage thus result the metal hiting noise when you turn the car & go tro bumps. This teh explanation I got...I'm simply clueless...no mechanic.

how come yours FC is 6.7... mine is 8.4 lah... whats wrong ah? i see everyone giving in in 6 liter only for 100km
*
ya lah...mine also >8L/100km depending on the road use.

But relying on the digital meter readings is hardly accurate lah. At such..my meter shows 6.5l/100km but when u do teh actual calculation it sum up to > 8l/100m. ohmy.gif

Hi guys...finally i got my persona last friday.... biggrin.gif

everythings is ok....except the fuel cosumption.... sweat.gif

firtst tank i fill-in petrol at rm99.49=36.xxltr, i drove up to 310km untill
the fuel warning lights up....but the metre shows 8.9ltr/100km..... sweat.gif
it's not to accurate.... blush.gif

i got rm300 tinted vouvher, rm70 petrol & a steering lock.
*
FC for virgin engine is definately run high. Let it break in...imagine all residue accumulated over resulted engine hard run. It will perform much better > 10,000km. Anyway, Fc depends on many factors from driving habit , to road surface & terrain, maintenance etc.
However, Persona runs good at highway or with constant cruise mode but town use will consumed fuel, esepcailly in slow speed. blush.gif
