I think is better to get back a replacement tank  vmad.gif

By the way, I am going to go for the 1st service, any good recommend SC in PJ area??
*
Its not the tank...it should be faulty float. Tank is to contain fuel & it need replacment if it leak fuel.

Float (like the one at "tangki" )not accurate result innacurrate indicator. Probably your indicator faulty too. Try to pump it full & not based on amount require.

hey guys, just a quick one. i did not keep up with the thread. but I just want to know that GENERALLY, what do the owners think about Persona?

Was it a good buy?
*
Just don expect Zero Free Problem then its good buy. Simply..its a good drive.

If your expectation over the top , then you will likely be dissapointed. You must realised if you yet own any Japs newly launched car like Honda Accord, Vios , City, latio etc...you woulnt know that this units also encounter new fresh problems but all can be rectified at SC.

Do you know there's a recall for all new Vios unit ??.

I heard some of them said that there is one type install down the dashboard and it's lock with the foot pedal, can not take out, but didnt see it  tongue.gif
*
Yup...pretty expensive. Came accross Lochtech brand from Thai costing RM300.00. Youneed to install it & its convenience as it stays at the pedal. You need only to pull the handle up whenever to lock it. key to unlock it & best if the lock forcefully pull out, alarm triggers. Its double security as by the time the robbers managed to unlock the lock..your car deactivated due to immobiliser.

Current immobiliser key is deemd good as primary security..as your key has coded chips security. Only your car can run with this key inserted. Other master key without coded chips can unlock the car but cannot start the car. If your car left unlock for certain minutes it will automatically disengage the car...some cars like Toyota or Honda cannot totally start the car. Persona probably can just unlock but cannot start. Other Jap mades needed to press the button to decode & engage the car. Persona just start it with insertion of the respective coded key.

thats why to get replacement of this coded key (immobiliser unit) will cost you > RM200.00. Keep the code no. given to you earlier as record. With the code, Proton will duplicate it for you at just a call over the phone.

Anybody can help me on how to adjust the oddometer thing..its just that whenever I push for milleage , it just go back to clock readings after a while. I push for FC readings, return to clock readings again.

How do I maintain the settings instead of the clock again?? Thanks bro.

Optimum FC is when you cruise at 90km/h. thats why most car report optimum best FC report if your car consitent drive at 90km/h.

BTW..to check your FC is to use this accuarte method of evalution...not, please not..judge how far your car drive untill empty tank.

1st. Pimp full tank...until click of nozzle dont pump further

2nd. Reset meter to Nil

3rd. Drive whatever distance(KM)

4th. next filling...pump also full till auto stop nozzle. (check bill ie Litre & $)

5th. Check FC by using readings at meter (KM) against fuel you pump at 4th. (Litre/$)

Note..this will show the fuel you just pump at 4th is the fill up gap fuel you use to run in KM. Thus u run Km/L or L/KM

There this highly accurate method...I see some asking ..pump full tank can run how far ah...your full tank how many ah..?? Scrap the old conventional method. Use this highly recommended & logical method. Persona float doesnt give accurate readings on empty tank.

To add...pump your fuel till auto stop ..which is till click of nozzle. Nothing more. You will waste fuel as the balance got into the hose ...the next filler will get free from the hose since you pay for it.

Tell u lah...even u saw some minor defects ..you still got no any options but to take the car since its already registered under your name. The only way the SE will persuade you not to worry as it can be rectofied at the SC. Evem if its a dent at the rear..you can ensure the SE listed down at the checklist & together with any minor defects as it is under 1 month warranty.

The the new defect is to be rectified at the SC. It applies also to all car made with it national or non national car.

wat u mean by stop while switch N to 1st gear? mine no pro~
*
Ya lah..dont quite understand.
I do drive co's car which is manual. It is ussually difficult to shift to 1st gear as compare to other gear shifts as its precautionery. Your car must be stationery & to start run you have to shift gear to 1st. This to avoid unneasary accelaration. You play the pedal. If you on run..you play with gear 2 to 4 unless ..emergency ...you stop the car then start run. 1st gear is applied. All the while while on the move..play only gear 2-4. I simply use tips of my finger to change gear (2 to 4)..my friend tot i drive like F1. Pretty good at gear change but I dont race. blush.gif

Again...it applies to all car made (incld Japs & Conti car). Get your car goes for 1st service..it will run smoothly with imporve FC. After 2nd service performance better ..FC better then after 1st service. Understand that after 10,000km service..your car should perform at optimum best.
How good is the FC..is ceratinly hard to determine. All depends on your driving habit.
I see some owner star barking at the SC for having high FC even before his car undergoes 1st service. When SC advice him to run further as the engine havent break in yet..he cursed & call the foremen stooopid. The onwer thinking he is smart telling everyone how bad the SC & cant rectify the FC problem of his car. Adding that ..no such thing. If Proton claimed such FC, his car should perform such..well wonder who is more stuburn & irrational.

So guys listen..if your car havent break in yet as the engine still tight with accumulated residues ..dont ever complain on why FC so high on Persona. Advice to go play with your car untill the car no longer a VIRGIN & perform like a pro. Now you know why 36 year old lady perform better in bed then 18 year old eh..??

Changing car from 4 to 2 and then 2 to 4  will cause any problem in engine? because its like burdening or forcing the car engine to change in short time..thts why... need to clarify because i do play like tht.. can save little fuel smile.gif
*
From what I know..changing gear to lower speed will certainly consume fuel a little. Best is remain constant speed & at highest gear possible which is 4th speed..even your RPM dropped. brows.gif

hey I tot the cap only applies to B Line model. Hiya change into sports rim loh..problem solve & better looking somemore..

BTW, managed to learn how to adjust my car's oddometer..no more returning to clock readings.
Here's how:-

Leave at clock readings. Then press both the A & B button together for 2 seconds..it will show the screen u desire without abruptly returning to clock. So now my car stay at showing FC readings all the time..if I wan to check milleage ..I just keep clicking at B button to change channel...ooops..digital readings. There...So whenever speed I drive T road condition , I could see the up & downs of FC readings.

OK..none M'sian Car is all subsidize ..now subsidised less. M'sian car no subsidy thus interest rate reach >3%. None National car still below < 3% despite slight increase.

This is how I understand on the immobisers on Persona.

If the car is already lock. You just unlock it & never managed to open the door for say 30 seconds..your car will be autolock itself.

If you leave your wife in the car & car left running..get your wife to lock it by pressing the drivers ..what you call the thing that jot out there. Just press it down & all doors lock simultaneously. To unlock it..get your wife to pull up ..then will you be able to get in. You cant use the remote as the key was left in the ignition for the car to run. There.

Another is..if you left the car unlock for certain period..the alarm trigger if you come back & open the door.

Anymore tips to share. biggrin.gif icon_idea.gif

what you mean bro? i dont understand..... u mean we left without lock means.. its will auto alarm is it?
*
Tried out on Persona ..unlike other Japs car..it doesnt trigger the alarm. But the indicator will blick like crazy even while you drive. Sorry for the misled infor.
Other made car, if you left unlock for long the night , when u open the door during the morning..siren starts activated.

BTW, for another tips on using Rain X. Try cleaning the wiper with mild soap solution, you will notice it wipe smoothly on the applied rain X windscreen. If not , you will encounter wipping resistant & noisy wiper movement. I'm fan of Rain X & is effective during rainy season / thunderstom with low visibility. Rain drops turn beads & roll off from the windscreen. cool2.gif

Mine is Air Cool tint...its awarded with M'sian Superbrand (Nationwide branch) & also wins several awards. Bought the promo coupon for RM10 & got RM100 discount.

Mine cost about RM580 with 80% heat penetration & 55% visibility + Front screen 70% heat penetration. Could recal the name of the particular tint. Almost got Air Cool Duraguard which is for buglary security. All with 5 years warranty. You can search it at internet. I gues its www.aircool.com.my.

Remind them to do regn no etching at you windows for free as well. Mentioned to them.

Again..AirCool is M'sian Superbrand Tint.

Mine is RM399
Brand - Solid Cool
55% black color
5 years warranty
JPJ approved - but the tinted looks very dark lah... dont know why and how come approved by JPJ
got RM200 voucher so.. just paid.. RM199 only lah
*
Out of town for few days...likewise missing in action.

Just take note. JPJ have never approved any tint in M'sia. The tint shop only require to adhere the regulation thats all. Compliant to it. If the shop says it was approved..you gottta switch tint shop. He cheats you. There is thousand of such tint shop in nationwide..all with thier own respective brand. Advice, get the realiable ones...award winning, popular . Like Air-cool..it was awarded by Ministry as Superbrands ...such as Nestle, Toshiba, Dell, etc.

Most importantly..visibility of the tint not lower than 50%. Which means one could see the passenger from the outside. blush.gif

Just to annouce..none National Cars (Honda/Toyota/ Kia etc) will start to enjoy rates at 3.9%.

It will be similar to Proton cars as its scheme is no longer subsidised by jap's principal. At least people will understand why oh why they tot only national Cars always enjoy higher rates. They have forgotten about the subsidised scheme given earlier, just like fuel price back then. -Reported by Ah Long Ltd.

I am not sure want to go back to SC to repaint it or go outside workshop, becoz afraid the color will different, If not repaint it, I afraid it will get rust... cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Anybody can suggest should I go SC or outside workshop do the repaint service?
*
I took my car just less then a week...one idiot Myvi who park at the side crashed into my rear & drive off b4 I'll able to stop her. Its just 1 week...so I took the car to the workshop on my own to get it align first (mudguard) then send over to an auto paint shop to get it respray 2K paint. They will know the appropriate paint & the total it cost me RM130 (RM30 for mudguard). Now back to normal. Sorry to say SC wont do that for ..they will send to thier panel workshop & get it with higher cost. Its not cover under warranty so no worry..drive to teh desired workshop to get its resprayed. Likely it cost less then RM100.00. They will consealed the scratch. They are expert. Take only 1 day.

Go to the realiable auto spray workshop & long establsbished. Go to the insurance panel claimant workshop..your bill will double. smile.gif

to make it louder, juz put it somewhere else...
*
yes..the sensor beeper is so hidden & with the good conceal for soundproof..the alert sound is hardly haerd. Some cars beeper alert is located in front, thus result clear sound. You can rectify it by reallocating nearer to the rear seats. SC will now how to do it at your next service but do inform them.

how bout the blind spot from left side i mean the front rear left part which is before the mirror, one motorbike came cross from left and i didnt notice it lah.. and also happen to cars from left... dont know why... too many blind spot in persona, last time my iswara, never had such.....
*
The problem with nowadays driver is thier positioning of front side mirrors faces towards the side of the car. Of course you miss the blindspot.

The right & correct way as according to world interanation standard..try tilt it more to the side & away from the chassis of the side car. Trust me you will get use to it later. let it face the road..all miror the road at more to side. OR..alternatively..

get the small round wide angle view mirror which u could get at supermarket for RM6.00 per pair & attached it to side corner of the side mirror.

As for rear..u can get wide angle squarish larger size miror to attached to the rear view glass. Its about RM15.00.

Like me ..have never favour of putting such attachment mirror & pretty adapt to the sitiution.

Try titlt the side miror more towards side road then facing the rear door. Try it..
