can, pop for mermaid, ahhahhahahah. kidding lah. i been read from MFN and in this forum not mistaken, Seremban angler posted before some poping or luring activity done at the beach of PD and caught barra. like sifu Q said fishing is 99% luck 1% skill, if that time a group of barra swim by maybe u have chances to catch them....

Hey guys was wondering if you have seen this product or know when I can get one...I have seen on tv people going fishing and tranport/keep their caught fish in a vinyl bucket that is clear and has a handle. I think it also has a side pocket for putting an aerator to aerate minnows on fishing trips etc...
The bucket is cylindrical shape. thanks |

Hello everyone,
I'm interested to know about fishing. Had a search on Google but I think its much better if its being taught/experience first hand. However for now, may I request for some good readings on the Internet about this hobby? |

u can learn to tie knots .. setup rigs .. and some other misc items
but for beginner i suggest just get a cheap setup (around rm100 or so) .. just to see if u really like it .. if u do then see where u go from there .. if u dont then u dont lose much whatever your choice have to depend on your fishing location and style preference .. saltwater ? freshwater ? paypond ? hunt in the wild ? off to sea ? when u have an idea of where u wanna start fishing then u can decide what kinda stuff u wanna buy .. |

sorry ah .. me only know how to fish .. dunno about rod making one ..
buying a rod is most of the time much cheaper than making your own .. but if your DIY spirit rules then be my guest .. hehehe a cheap rod can start from rm10 and above .. cheapo reel ( dont expect this to perform like magic) starts from rm15 and above .. |

QUOTE(firedauz @ Jul 31 2008, 07:49 PM) Hello everyone, This hobby need more than reading... suggest you follow us on TT session or fishing trip organized near by.. then you can see yourself or listen which direction you wanna follow... too much to read about as anglers normally tokkok... MuaHaHaHa... I'm interested to know about fishing. Had a search on Google but I think its much better if its being taught/experience first hand. However for now, may I request for some good readings on the Internet about this hobby? Bear in mind that different fishing games have different syiokness... saltwater VS freshwater, bottom, casting, jigging, live bait, soft plastic, lures, etc... therefore, you yourself must determine what kind of syiokness you after... |

I have seen those bamboo rods for around 2.50-5 USD....really cheap so I would assume in malaysia they would have them cheaper....those that I have seen are around 5ft per section and it comes in two sections...around 10ft...some longer...and they look to be selected bamboos and varnished with shellac for durability and was resistance.
I personally really like fishing with the cane fishing method. Though nowadays people mostly use carbon graphite rods like those telescopic ones. Much more sensitive...but then if you use the right float it wouldn't matter. I currenly use a 10 telescopic graphite rod and have caught tons of bluegills this way...using micro bobber/floats and tiny size 16 to 18 hooks...really challenging... |

However for now, may I request for some good readings on the Internet about this hobby? well to start fishing ... it's best to explore it yourself, try different battle field, .. just like what sifu Q and sifu VW say .. anyway most of us here were saltwater kakis.... there's also some freshwater guru's such as sifu rory hmm so feel free to join us to hook some fish =) addiction level: Freshwater paypond/lake/river/ etc - minor to moderate Saltwater - extremely dangerous QUOTE(cassplayer @ Aug 2 2008, 09:36 AM) hey all imma gonna start fishing soon... cuz i'm taking a hobby badge - fishing.... so i wanna try making my own fishing rod with bamboo.... can anyone pls gimme some links or tutorials??? seriously don't really bother to make your own rod when you just started out this hobbies, because you don't understand the rod function/action. Anyway a cheap uglystick medium action rating 15-25lbs rod will be good for you to explore on freshwater and some minor saltwater action.QUOTE(biofoot @ Aug 5 2008, 02:59 PM) I have seen those bamboo rods for around 2.50-5 USD....really cheap so I would assume in malaysia they would have them cheaper....those that I have seen are around 5ft per section and it comes in two sections...around 10ft...some longer...and they look to be selected bamboos and varnished with shellac for durability and was resistance. emm bro, are you local ? =) I personally really like fishing with the cane fishing method.
