PP mean creating the effect using photoshops... rather than actually snap the pictures in original form.

By the way, chinese press paid are fxxking low... It will de-motivate you in a way... try English papers first la.... Only fail, then try chinese one...

ohh... doing a course might help u in improving your photography language. i.e. how to read an image and stuffs.

and of course, improve your english, if you wanna work in an english newspaper.

Ya... you are right... I believe learning all the basic like rule of 3rd blah blah blah might help...

Techniueq like mine no brainer shooting styles (no rules, just shoot what I like) might not work everytime...

maybe not roland barthes... but at least susan sontag's book. this is the first book on photography that you should read before holding a camera.

I did not sell my pictures... so for hobbish & foolish people like me just snap-snap-snap. Most pictures I took maybe not even need to think... hahaha... just use reflexes.. no rules also...

And I only take pictures that I like...

That's the different between a profesional that make money out of it.... and hobbist....

Exactly, that's what I thought. By taking a course, least it could help me is in terms of professionalism. In terms of understanding the language of a photograph, etc, etc.

It's like music, a self taught musician might not know how to read musical notes.

I heard there is a tutorial interactive DVD that teach you how to learn Photoshop.

I dont know about interactive but can always get those video cd that have photoshop lesson on them like the one they gave out with magazines puchase.

its not perfect buy like all things in life you have to practice, practice, practice again and again....

personally, for me, if you are to get any course to improve your skill or learn about photography, then I would say, better don't... Learn from every photo outing you can get here, and learn from the people you know who has been playing with camera long time ago or maybe some seniors? hmm...

unless, you are taking the course of Photography, for the sake of entering BIG company to be their professional photographer or something relevant, then maybe yes... You might need a certificate to get in...

From my experinces, lots of people always tell you bullshit about how to take better picture by mastering the lights etc... Some even tell you that only 50mm is needed! To be frank, I think most of them dun even have ideas on what they mean.

Only from one event that I met a true practical master teach me real secret that might sound stupid to most of you; Get that damn 1D and a couple of L lenses... I now really realise what he met... The power of L lenses really make pictures standout from the rest! The amazing L color, the carity of sharpness and details and smoothness of background blur... And USM to ensure sucess rate of getting sharp pictures... It make you want to take pictures again and again to see its feel-good results... And yes, I think I do need a 1D and I know why. Now I finally started to understand his so-call silly words to many... but turn out to be actually the only practical advise.

but back to the topic, seriously, as what I mentioned, unless you need the certificate, else the course is not necessary if you are just for the sake of passion and hobby!
