Universal revs up another 'Fast and Furious'
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker will return for 'Fast Five' sequel



Universal Pictures is hitting the accelerator on a fifth installment of "Fast and Furious," titled "Fast Five."

Studio has closed deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return to the franchise, which has become one of the studio's most lucrative.

Diesel and Walker sat out the third chapter in the series but returned for last year's fourth installment, which was the highest-grossing "Fast and Furious" film and Universal's top grosser of 2009. Its box-office haul was more than $350 million worldwide.

Chris Morgan is writing "Fast Five," marking the third time he and Lin have teamed for a "Fast and Furious" film. The story finds protags Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) as fugitives being pursued by legendary lawmen.

Lensing will begin later this year for a 2011 release.

Original Films' Moritz has produced every film in the series, beginning in 2001 with the "The Fast and the Furious."

Universal's Jeff Kirschenbaum and Franklin Leonard will oversee the project for the studio.

Filming has started for Fast Five, the fifth installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, and Tyrese Gibson (who was just filming Transformers 3 this weekend in Chicago) has posted some photos of the male leads on his Twitter account.



In the Justin Lin-directed action film, scheduled for a June 10, 2011 release, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) are fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen.

Jordana Brewster and Paul Walker in Fast and Furious 5 Set Images — SPOILERS

Some new (well, they’re new to me, since I didn’t see them until today, but these were apparently snapped back in late July) set pictures of Jordana Brewster and Paul Walker on the Puerto Rico set of their “The Fast and Furious 5″ movie aka “Fast Five”.

There is a very big SPOILER in these pictures, not least of which is the fact that Jordana Brewster will definitely be back for “Fast Five”, though how big her role is remains a mystery. Judging by the SPOILER in the pictures, though, it’s a sure bet she’s not just going to show up and then leave again.

“Fast Five” re-teams pretty much all the (surviving) castmembers of the previous “Fast and Furious” film, including director Justin Lin, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson joining the cast as the lawman charged with hunting down our vehicular fugitives.

The Nissan Skyline driven by Paul Walker in the latest Fast and Furious was reported stolen from a warehouse in Sun Valley, California. In just ten minutes. Well, what do you expect? Having your car shown in Hollywood makes it a primary target for car thieves.

According to Fast & Furious Picture Car Coordinator Dennis McCarthy, it wasn't a Nissan R34 GT-R that was stolen as most of you might think. Instead it was a less exotic Skyline GT-S model that had been redecorated as a GT-R and used in Paul Walker’s first race scene of the movie.

The vehicle was wrecked during the production, sold by Universal Studios and then restored by new owner, drifting competitor Chris "Milano" Kregorian.

According to Milano, he was away in Georgia for the Formula D event at Road Atlanta during this past weekend and when he returned he found the Skyline missing.

In getting the Skyline out of the shop on Monday night, the thieves bumped a BMW and scratched other vehicles including a Porsche Boxster, a classic Studebaker Silverhawk and a '69 Camaro, as related by CBS2 via Jalopnik.

The stolen Skyline is estimated to have a value of $75,000, but, believe it or not, it was not insured. Why to insure it if it is only used for show and promotional purposes? Well, if by any chance Milano gets his car back, he should have learned the lesson and insure it.

The Rock's in?Well, I really wouldn't care much what's his role in the movie.What really matter is WHAT IS HIS RIDE? 

But personally I think FAST 4 is the worst movie among all...Hope the 5 won't fail again...
