I just invested some portion for
PB singapore Ad 30.
got some good hopes.

Still thinking in regards to PB ASIA PACIFIC ENTERPRISES FUND
( very aggresive)

There is a similar new fund from Public Mutual called PSGEF - Public Singapore Equity Fund to be offered from June 07 to June 27, 2011. You may consider this new fund, similar to PB Singapore Advantage-30 Equity Fund. Offers at NAV RM0.25. In fact, the PB Singapore Ad 30 is already in positive side for those who invest since commencement at last year 2010 May 11.

You may consider Public Sukuk Fund if your risk appetite is LOW.

No F.R.E.E lunch in the world. Eventually there is a cost incurred regardless you invest either in Stock or UT Investment. (such as broker fees, service charges-For UT, AMF-For UT, ATF-For UT)

QUOTE(mango27 @ Jul 26 2011, 07:51 PM)
wanna ask about an investment plan Great Eastern - Great Cash Wonder

my mom was approach by her friend about this... she planning to invest on it... but how do i find out whether its genuine or not? since from the link it says ends by 15th July or 100M whichever comes first... the agent is asking her to sign tomorrow as she say its limited time... and the quotation she printed sate "Great Cash" instead of "Great Cash Wonder"...

the policy is not cheap as first year need RM 52,400 and same for subsequent years for 5 years... so i dont want her to get conned or something... any help is much appreciated...

PS: i have no scanner now so couldnt scan the quotation. Will do it later...

This is Insurance Endowment Plan. Your mom can just spend little premium (lower premium for high sum assured) for income replacement insurance (example: Investment-Linked Policy/ILP) instead of this one lump sum big amount of premium (RM52.4k, the sum assured is low in Endowment Plan compare to those Sum Assured in ILP). The remaining of money can invest in other investment tools instead solely on this endowment plan. The allocation for the insurance is very low in the first few years, most of premium goes to the company's. sweat.gif

No one can forecast the market up/down. Do set your long term financial goals (5-10 years or more), then set for periodical investment with either DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) or VCA (Value Cost Averaging). Diversify your equity (70/80%) versus Bond (30/20%) depends on your current age & time horizon allowed of your long term financial goal.

Market up/down is normal as human's heartbeat. If the market is stationary then is dead liao. :-)

As usual, there is no right or wrong answer, we always learning from mistake.

Wonder why it closed-->reopen-->closed-->reopen back?

1. Fund Size is closer to the the approved fund size allowed, then the fund manager may consider to close for sale. They need to estimate some buffer for those investors using DDI (monthly Direct Debit Instruction during the closed period) (Currently this fund's approval fund size is 875million units, compare to the initial launching fund size is 500millions in 13.06.2000, now already increase to 875 million units when you refer to Public's Q2 Quarterly Fund Review Report)

2. When unitholders repurchase (sell off) to fund manager (the company), the overall fund size will be dropped and therefore it may reopen for new investors to invest with the available units. Once the new fund coming in, there is new opportunities to invest in small market capitalization in down turn time.
