This promotion is quite attractive especially for those that plans to top up/invest in equity. Wonder if I should make use of this promotion to invest or insist on waiting till after GE.

er.. withrawals/switching outs doesnt mess (much) from mine coz i've a separate "SOLD/SWITCHED OUT" worksheet to capture realized gains/losses
VS
held & paper gains/losses
tongue.gif - bad habit carried forward from my stock trading days (ie. paper vs realized)

Wong, we do include the subsequent distributions amount into the XIRR calculations right? Those are considered the 'different time of investment' too, I suppose?

Distribution is NOT a cash flow, it is merely "left hand go right hand", should be disregarded in the XIRR calculation.

Unless you elected to receive distributions in cash i.e. not reinvested, then yes, it should be taken into account.

Aiya Pink, don't like that - of course I know that. I was thinking since we do include subsequent distribution into the calculation when calculating the value of investment as per latest date, whether we should include in XIRR when calculating returns too.

Since the former way of calculating latest investment value is indirectly calculating returns too.

Recalculated my fund returns using XIRR. Not sure if I inserted the data correctly though. For all my investment, I just inserted the amount (RMX,000), and I did not provide the breakdown calculation (x units * unit RM). That's my cash outflow part.

For my cash inflow, since all my distributions are redistributed, I only include the total latest value at the last column.

I also makan banyak la.. so same same. Maybe we can set a date after September.. tongue.gif

I notice when I use XIRR(), my result will always be #NUM!

But if i put my final column value a negative value, there is a value coming out which I think should be correct on the annualized return..

8/18/2011        20,000
11/20/2011 10,000
3/12/2012        0
3/16/2012        12,000
3/30/2012        45,000

Above example I am getting #NUM!

When I change the 45000 to -45000, i get something...

You know why? Or anyone can help me?
*
I assume 3/30/2012 is the latest total value of your investment? In that case, all the previous 4 figures should be ''-'' since it's a cash outflow (the amount you invested). RM45,000 should be a ''+'' figure. Do correct me here.

OSK-UOB Income Fund perform slightly better. I invested since June 2012 with multiple topup till August 2012. So far my XIRR is 4.02 %. Good to spread over different fund to diversified the risk.

Look like data error. FSM updated their NAV, no increase at all. tongue.gif

Am planning to switch partial of my AmD bond to OSK-UOB too. Make use of the nil switching fee. Need to be more diversify.

AmDynamic Bond already closed, I'd suggest not touching it. Park your current and future months' excess funds in OSK-UOB Income Fund, that's what I'm planning to do. wink.gif

P.S. - OSK-UOB IF minimum subsequent purchase also RM1,000 sweat.gif

Added on October 8, 2012, 11:52 pmJust bought into Hwang Asia Quantum Fund (an Asia Ex-Japan, overweight Malaysia small-mid cap equity fund) 2 weeks ago, almost recouped my FSM Sales Charges. Hwang IM is ridiculously good. sweat.gif

Correct me if I'm wrong. Was looking at FSM "other performance data" column and noticed that OSK annual return loses to AmD by quite a huge margin. 2011 - 10.12% vs. 3.93%

Or I'm looking at the wrong column.

Thanks for the tip, bro.

You self calculated the 2012 annual return of two fund?

Didnt notice any foreign bond that OSK invests in the prospectus. But I just had a glimpse, reading in details over the weekend.

Btw; to see the annual return of a fund we should refer to "other performance data" column right? This is a really lost question. lol
