he cannot be counted in. tottenham's placing is worst than last year under jol. tongue.gif
grant bring the bpl title to penultimate day and they're in cl final too!  brows.gif

but they did win Carling Cup under him... hmm.gif
n considering he wasnt given his own squad... the squad is a leftover frm Jol...
n oso he came in late (January), less time to experiment with his squad...

I would say firstly will have to be Torres (to come in your first season and score so many goals is a great acheivement), second on my list will be Sagna (has been a consistent preformer and has suited well in the BPL) and lastly got to be Defoe (really starting to shine in portsmouth).....

thats because grant hand 'em the title with his 'genius' tactical tongue.gif
and ramos actually inherited a strong squad from martin jol as well.
strong enough at least for 6th place.

agree with soccernet's list thumbup.gif

Why? Just because soccernet says so? What's printed isn't always the gospel truth. I've my opinion and they have theirs. There is no absolute truth.

Why are you asking me? I'm not the one that quoted the article insisting that those who voted Torres agree with soccernet, and change their votes to Santa Cruz. I've already made my points.

Roque Santa Cruz is the buy of the season hands down. Buying him at 3.5 million pounds and scoring 23/24 goals in his debut season and not with a top 4 team really impresses me ALOT.

Yes,torres is another fantastic buy but i rate him second best buy and a close one. Think about it, buying him at 20+mil pounds and playing with one of the top 4 team. I didn't expect him to score that much but he must at least deliver some goods. There's an expectation for him to play well for a record signing for a top4 team

I completely agree. Expectations of Torres was high despite him only scoring once in three games for Atletico. There were no expectation of Santa Cruz. There was therefore more pressure on Torres to perform as all eyes were on him. Andy Gray paid him a huge compliment by claiming he was the complete centre forward and when a bluenose says that, you know this kids special. Santa Cruz was given little attention much like Benni McCarthy in his first season. Now that there are expectations, let's see if he performs in his 2nd season. McCarthy himself has moved down the pecking order near the end of the season behind Jason Roberts.
