Don't take ya pant off yet ... Microsoft denies the add on. At least wait for confirmation from Microsoft before pre-ordering (or anything involving money).

Cheers!

xbox360 does not need a blu ray,ms should reduce the price of hard drive and make more people happy to buy their harddrive.

I personally wouldn't mind buying a Blu-Ray drive, considering how expensive the players are these days.

Because I've always wanted to watch HD movies in the living room,it's just so cool drool.gif

I still don't understand why Microsoft looks at Blu-Ray disc format as 'only a optical movie format' but not 'game disc format'. Blu-Ray is the future of optical discs and we all know that.

I know Xbox 3 will have a Blu-Ray built in. If not, Microsoft has to come up with their own disc format.

Guys,
I received confirmation from a game shop owner that an external Blu-ray player will be available very soon.
Anybody wanna get it?
The price is ranged at RM600-700.
Has anyone any information on such a fact?

biggrin.gif What happened to that confirmation now ? Already nearly 9 months..

Anyway,

Check This Link

"It's not a feature we get a ton of requests for," Bach told Tech Flash. "When you ask people the list of things they want to see us spending time creating in Xbox, Blu-ray is way, way down on the list.

First list.. free gold member? brows.gif

i think MS is gonna go along the digital distribution way..
at least until some company can come up with other form of optical storage besides blu-ray (holographic disc maybe? up to 3.9TB per disc?)...

Wow... just the thought of Free Gold Membership... biggrin.gif

Xbox 360 n Blu-Ray = forget it. I think its time to move on... Microsoft won't give Blu-Ray to 360 owners.

Xbox 3 = most likely. Better be. Not just for 'movie format' but a 'game format' as well. Game devs cannot cramp everything into multiple DVDs.. sweat.gif

QUOTE
We can't have publishers produce games on Blu-ray disc. Because then they won't play on the 28 million Xboxes we've already shipped. So it doesn't help us in the core gaming space."

That means Xbox 3 'might' just have Blu-Ray.

nah.. not gameplay, just more HD content for your eyes to bleed for.
ps3's games are on blu-ray (talking about their exclusives), still i dun see 40 hour FPS yet in a single player mode, unless you really stretch it that far.
or 100 hour action adventure game.

my point being is, huge space doesn't mean the game will be long. just that those space could be optimized for other content (sound, movie, textures, etc)

i won't count on it.
as far as i know, MS will try to distance themselves from Sony (blu-ray board is headed by Sony, therefore need to pay royalty to Sony if they use it).
so the next best thing, support a totally new HD format.

DVD media for gaming has really reached it's limit... Sometimes, due to lack of storage, game developers tends to cut down on cut scenes or voice acting just to try and fit the whole data into a single DVD. Tales Of Vesperia is 1 example where the game has not many cutscenes and has only 50% voice acting throughout the game..
