My speed still sux now. Can't reach 1Mbps on D98 with full bar hsdpa signal. The signal keep switching between 3G and HSDPA.

If you keep on getting kicked from HSDPA that means there are lots of users in that particular area. Remember , only 10 HSDPA users a time. If there are more , you'll fall back to 3G aka UMTS.

So I just type ping www.streamyx.com -t  in Run and I will stay connected right? Yeay. Thx for the info!

I would stimulate some web activity by auto-refreshing certain pages , so that the tower doesn't disconnect you. It thinks that you're surfing the internet and you need it. It works for maxis but then if there are too many users , it kicks me out !

i am using a new ip tat ends wif .18..........any users here shared this ip?

thx

I am guessing that they are slowing opening up new IP ranges. If you want to test if you're being shared , try using rapidshare and download some junk from Rapidshare. If you don't get any errors such as that you're downloading a file that means that Celcom is now rolling Real Dynamic IP for each individual users !

oic. But my Mobile Connect have the "SMS" function. Can really send sms? i doubt it.

btw anybody know how to port forwading? haha noob question.
I run my own pc webserver , and i gave my friend my ip but somehow they didnt manage to enter my webserver. what's wrong huh?

i also use dydns.org to point up direct to my celcom broadband ip.

last question ( LOL! ) , i'm kinda upset becoz can't play cs online. Always been kicked becoz got high ping. Lagging huh.. so there will be NO online game if using celcom broadband right?

Your IP Address is a shared IP address. Plus Celcom blocks all external connections. In other words ,you'll never ever get to a host which means you can never host a DOTA game , host a web-server or act as a host. To overcome this there are couple of ways

1) Reverse SSH Tunnel - You'll have to find a SSH server that does this.

2) Hamachi - This will get your job done. Ask both parties to install it and voila they can see your website even if its being blocked by celcom's firewall. The disadvantage is that your friends need to install hamachi and connect to your same network before they can view your website.

Wireless ping aren't consistent. Whenever you hop from HSPDA to 3G , there will be packet losses. This is bad for FPS games , however it is okay if you're into RTS games or games that doesn't require you to have low latency (RO is a good example)

wow .. good and superb explanation. thanx a lot prasys

voila! my friends can see my website using hamachi.

Thanks. But if you want other people to see your Internet. you'll have to transform your friend's pc into a relay. Whenever they keyin his IP , it will get redirected to yours. This is somewhat safe for you as the hackers wouldn't' be able to identify where it is coming from but then your friend's PC is at risk. If something goes wrong , he is the one to be blamed.

There are other alternatives as well. Just do keep in mind that Celcom is behind a public IP whereby its being shared by more then 3 users or so ( I believe its around 50-60 users per IP).

can i use celcom bb for my cyber cafe...my area no streamyx..got infoage bb..
*
Wait. You're going to use Celcom Broadband for your cybercafe. It is called Madness. Trust me , your internet will be slow to death as UMTS/HSPDA isn't stable. If you have like 5-10 computers then it shouldn't be a problem. online games will lag though

So far so good, very stable the whole morning, no shitty need to disconnect and reconnect every 10 seconds like the other day.
*
If there are too many users at an area who are online or using their phone at a time , you'll face disconnections. Remember that we are sharing services with Celcom voice users too. Priority goes to voice first and then followed by data !

Does Celcom BB has coverage at UTM Skudai?
*
You'll have to ask someone around if you're in 3G or HSDPA coverage zone. We can't say

Anyone have the same problem with me?
Everytime i download stuff, just direct download, not p2p, i cant surf, msn dc, i can't even ping the dns server. All i can is download the stuff at 100 kbps++
*
Keep in mind that Wireless connections can't have too many concurrent connection. The maximum it can go is around 30-40 . I would recommend you to install cFosSpeed to start managing your bandwidth. Trust me , it does a pretty neat job !

Chances are you got kicked by the tower. You may have to disconnect and reconnect.

err....
one question here...
my friend said that a tower only can support up to 10user of HSDPA
is it true?
*
Yes its true. If you are a D68 user , chances are you might be kicked from the tower when there are lots of D98 users.

Hi all,
I got a question to ask people with experience with D68 and D98.
Let's say in a HSDPA coverage area, D68 dl speed is 20kBps, will D98 dl speed be the same or higher (since the dl is not reaching D68 max)?
I'm asking this question because I'm thinking of upgrade to D98, and since my average dl speed is only 20kBps (D68), not 40kBps (max for D68). I wonder upgrade will make a difference or not.
*
Well , does it go beyond 20 kBps ?. You'll have to install a netmonitor to see if it can go beyond 20.
