If successful? - How to check?
after modding, rivatuner will show 9600GSO but it will be 128SP, 256-bit and 512MB memory. I think everything else stays the same (ROP, etc). Then you can OC to 8800GTS speeds and if you compare with the actual 8800GTS, difference is only in the ROP, if not mistaken.

If failed??? (Touch wood) What to do? - Panic mode
to in back up bios mode is press ctrl+alt+del when system boot up ....in 3 sec .....if sucess in back up mode ...the bios screen will became normal ...then u in window to recover it bios .....if no flash back..after u restart it will same like b4 ......

If you screw up, when booting, press ctrl+alt+del while booting and the card will switch to the backed up bios. Then go back into windows and reflash to the default firmware. You can use rivatuner or gpuz to back up your current bios. You can also download from another forumer who posted it a few pages back.

So far this product not yet available in market and the latest ForceWave 175.12 beta driver also not yet support this model yet.

8800GS is cheap!RM420 now for Asus one

the gs is not that bad.the OC versions are on par with the 9600gt.The gs only loses when the AA is turned on because of the 192bit.i have tried it before, and its every bit like its bigger brother the 8800gt 512mb at low resolutions.

I think wont so cheap.Rm-600-rm700.

Is it just me or are all 9 series cards out so far with the exception of 9600gt rebadged 8 series cards?

it not just you, i felt the same way too..when 9600GT come out I thought 9 series will continue the performance of 8800GT/GTS...but when later model come out, I wasn't really impressed, 9800GTX which is just an OC model of 8800GTS with tri-SLI support and better OC headroom...now rebranding of some 8 series to 9 series pulak...come to think of it, 9600GT is just strip-down version of 8800GT...

Now Galaxy 9600GSO 384MB OC onli RM410 in LYN . It uses 0.8ns Samsung GDDR3 and overclocked to 600/2000 . Quite nice and can beat reference 9600gt in some games .

Is the 789MB version of 9600GSO available here? If yes whats the price like?

cheapest i've seen so far is rm390. what's the minimum power requirements to run 9600gso/8800gs? if 380w can use ar? coz last time i tested 9600gt with 380w psu, no funny probs. might get a 96gso or 88gs as my next upgrade. hehe.

rm360 izit the vanilla GSO version and rm399 the OC version? if like that it's considered very cheap d lo. But last time i went there they said galaxy 1-year warranty only. that's why cheaper than other brands.

i think it depends on your preference coz both are identical in specs. some brands dun offer 9600GSO but only 8800GS. so again it's your call. i personally wouldn't mind 9600GSO or 8800GS, for me warranty period is the most important.

i saw the gigabyte card when i went to lowyat about 2 weeks ago. the box and card design exactly the same with their 8800GS. if put them side by side i think kenot differentiate which is 9600GSO or 8800GS. I have to see the box only know which is which

only galaxy 9600gso can do it bcoz it comes wif 8 ram chip (which means its can enable to 256bit 512mb) rather than normal 1 comes wif 6 ram chip
n the sucessful rate not 100% too

galaxy 9600GSO i think also comes with dual bios, so if wrongly flash no need so scared...
