I don't understand is the memory clock is 1000/1100/1200.. Why some of you put 2000? If it's GDDR3 shouldn't it be times 3 instead of times 2? Or the memory clock is really 2000?
*
this is because DDR(no matter DDR2/3) runs twice the speed of the actual clock speed, that's why when the memory clock is 1000, it is actually 2000, same goes to GDDR

QUOTE(ksking @ Jun 22 2008, 05:26 PM)
beware...
mayb ur previous action did spoilt the card adi...
*
dunno man, other games don have wor...my fren told me it's because my card is pushing its limit, causing it to be unstable...maybe because crysis is just too GPU dependent, until it really try to push out every bit of my card, causing artifact to appear...anyway, will drop my settings to medium and see how....

so far the installation is success and can run those example that the apps provide(those cloth, water, balls falling demos)

not really sure it's the voltage....anyway, what's the highest u can get??
i dare not OC now cos i see artifacts in crysis even at high setting and no AA...but when i put back to mid, nothing at all, very nice and smooth...
guess it's unstable runnig crytek engine 2....

so architectural limitation maybe? the ddr3 architecture limit?
*
go wiki check out what's the highest clock speed supported by GDDR3

Added on June 23, 2008, 10:13 pmok, here's some reason to switch to GDDR5...
quoted from wiki GDDR5 page:
Qimonda announced volume production of 512 Mb GDDR5 modules rated at 3.6 Gb/s (900MHz), 4.0 Gb/s (1GHz), and 4.5 Gb/s (1.125GHz)

x4 the clock speed.....

this card cost less then RM500, and some of us buy less the RM400 here...
so don really expect it go fly like GTX

ya, totally agree with that one....imagine a card that cost just RM400 can play high setting(maybe very high also) in crysis, even though no AA, still very nice

yes, that's true actually...i read some of the reviews, the stock performance of the card is the same as mine(after success mod)

i'll start from myself...

Core: 675
Shader: 1690
Memory: 1K
voltage: 1.2V

this is still not my final result, as i was sitting for my exam earlier this week...
will try to tweak more later

just one question...if artifact appear, pumping more voltage can solve problem??
i just found out it is actually for me to do AA in crysis after all..but i need to lower the setting to this:

Core: 480
shader: 1380
Mem: 800

shader and core clock is at it's max, any higher will cause artifact...memory havent test max value yet...
as u can see...it's like very very low in clock speed now, and the performance, need not to say, dropped...

i played quite a few times today, all the artifact gone....(maybe they went vacation...)

Added on June 28, 2008, 11:33 pmok, got my hands on UT3, gonna try to run the physX later to see success a not...

no lar...i suspect my memory chip also have some minor flaw...i can go higher then stock speed, but cannot turn on AA if i do that, it will somehow have artifact...
but recently i found out that i can run AA at stock speed without any artifacts at all...dunno to call this strange or what....

erm....haha....not many ppl wanted to share their OC result also...
actually leonardtan2, 4850 is good, if u have the money to pay 200-300 extra, get that card...but wait for 4870 if u are not in the rush, and have more budget then RM800, that card gonna be damn good i think

the 4850 performance is slightly better then this card if it success mod, which almost equal to first gen 8800GTS

ok, let me make this clear again....the reason for the modded bios used so that the 8 chip version will be able to use all the 8 chip, instead of just the 6 chip..
of course, not all ppl are successful, but then, if u have 8 chip, u can alway try it out, but then if u mod the 6 chip version to 8800 GTS, in the original purpose, i cant see any point...

but if anyone knows that it's more then just memory chip issue, please correct me, i am just giving this statement from what i know, i don meant to say anything misleading...
