Woot!!! More people getting it to work.. =/ I'll see at the end of June what's the prices of 9600GSO and 3870 XT3 Then I'll make a decision.

I still think it's card-dependant. Has nothing to do with mobo or batch. If you are lucky and get the right card, you can flash it.

no...so far it has to be specifically the 9600GSO OC model from Galaxy.

Eh guys! Softmodding the card will void warranty?? O.o I thought we can revert back the bios.. If it voids the warranty then I might not think of doing if I buy it.

From the china webpage, only the current batch may able to mod. Its because follow initial 9600gso card pcb design it did come with 512mb ram. Later it was changed to 384mb to cut cost and only galaxy 9600gso using the initial pcb desogn for the time being. So grab it while still available if you want to mod

Can flash into?9600GSO got the same numbers of stream processor with 8800GTS,but the core architecture are the same?

just bought today, installed the driver, and nightmare occurs....
my windows suddenly become 4-bit colour, and resolution max at 800x600...
but later, i boot up with Ubuntu, it can work, with max reso and compiz fusion running...
tell me now, isnt this Microsuck issue??

ya, cos if u flash, it will unlock the 2 locked, unused memory chip

8800GTS has different PCB. 9600GSO OC has the same PCB as 8800GT.
