Of course I'm not taking it as a 8800 GTS =P It's just that it's perfect for me. Cheap.. Good performance + OCable. And now can even softmod to give extra ommpph. Why not? So value for money =D

Somemore 256 MB is too little for me and 512 MB is too much. Using 19" LCD with 1440x900. So I guess 386MB would be just nice Thanks guys for introing it to me

ehh ehh....softmod got give extra ommpph meh? I don't see it...softmod score and my score in earlier post about same only wor. So practically i don't think it's different. It's all dependable on the physical card how they construct it like our gso has only 6 pieces of ram chips, you softmod it can become 8 pieces of ram chips? lol...think wise.

And also I include some comment compare to 8800gt 512mb. Lets take zotac 8800gt amp 512 that i have here in my 2nd rig. I took it and put in my c2d rig. Score at 700/1750/1000, 3dmark06 = 12.5k

And then gigabyte 8800gs 384mb, Score at 700/1750/1000 same speed. 3dmark06 = 11.45k.

Ewww see the difference there. 1.05k score for almost double the price. Perfomance / price is too rediculus unless you damm rich hhaha. If you have RM800 I suggest you sli them both. I'm still looking on the net. None of the review or I can see anyone has benchmark SLI of 9600GSO or 8800GS yet.

As for newbie will be wondering, if get the gso, you will need to o/c everytime manually when you restart your pc. Just use RIVAtuner and set it once and for all, on every reboot it will load the o/c settings upon starting windows. That's what I'm doing and actually very satisfy with this card as I just paid rm400+ a bit only.

bro....ur 96gso no same with galaxy 96gso oc ver ....it came with 8 ram mem chip u don bealive i post up pic let u see ....

do physial ...192bit/6=32bit per ram for normal 96gso .....but galaxy came with 8 mem u can refer the pic ....so 32bit*8= 256bit .....we mod it , just wan use that 2 ram n 256bit....we don wan what 88gts or 88gt name .....

Ohh...Now I got it. Galaxy really cun they give 8 ram chips. but they just disable the 2 ram chip?

it disable cause of the bios ....only up to 192bit ....if can mod just open to 512mb + 256bit ..and no change 96sp to 128sp then prefect ...

ya man..whoa..how come galaxy so generous to give away extra 2 mem chips there. Other vendors should do the same. Then it will become 9600gso glory.

so can anybody confirm this? The Galaxy 9600GSO OC edition works? Cos I have seen a few diff versions. One is the cooler cover the whole card like the 8800GT. Another is the normal zalman-like fan version (this is the non OC version, which apparently does not work).

The pic in the article pula give us a different cooler design...so I confuse which one can work which one doesn't.

that use zalman fan i think is 6mem .....btw ..my gc is oc ver ...same as bro ksking ...him sucess my 1 flash fail...don know y ...

its bcos they r trying to launch 9600GSO 256bit
but due to cost, they stop the plan...
so these are the only batch v 8 chips, later on will only hav 6 chips...

rumor2~
they r thowing out those 8800GTS that wif bugs...
therefore they just flash it with 9600GSO bios n sell it off...

so far only galaxy did tat~
