yea, the epi ZW neck isnt thick...the epi necks in general fall somewhere in between the 59 and 60 style...closer to the 60.
and who said thick neck not shreddable? you think trivium's former les paul customs had thin necks? you think the dimes have thin necks? dream on. like everything its technique, the thin necks just make it easier if your technique is right. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Apr 30 2008, 11:33 PM) yea, the epi ZW neck isnt thick...the epi necks in general fall somewhere in between the 59 and 60 style...closer to the 60. If you have long fingers that is. and who said thick neck not shreddable? you think trivium's former les paul customs had thin necks? you think the dimes have thin necks? dream on. like everything its technique, the thin necks just make it easier if your technique is right. Then you could reach those higher frets when the body blocks your palm. |

my fingers are really short, and i can access higher frets on my les paul. its only 22 frets not 24.
if you have your thumb behind neck position pretty much nailed down, thick or thin necks doesnt really affect that much. i prefer thick necks coz it gives me more control when i do bends (with the thumb over neck position) |

I am not really good at picking out guitars, but I managed to get my Mexican Strat from Mighty Music SS2 for about RM1k. It also is fairly reliable and rather sturdy. Not sure what you play since YouTube won't load ATM, but my Mex Strat has never screwed up and I would definitely recommend it to you.

heheheh...... careful......
![]() But the Les Paul is VERY shreddable on the upper frets. But I would rather play shredding solos on the RR3 because of the wider frets and the thinner strings. My Les Pauls are setup for "chunky" playing. But I do pull of solos quite well on the Les Pauls...... ...............that is of course my VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY limited shredding skills Don8ld can probably run circles around me. |
