I agree that the guitar you listed above isn't that big a step up from your current pacifica.

You should be aiming for something like, I dunno, A Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani or Vai's signature low end guitars...... or something like an S series or maybe like enteryourusername says, an Epiphone Les Paul Standard or heck, a Jackson RR3 or something around that range.......

Since you already have a first guitar, save up for a damn good one.

this is NOT a place to buy and sell.
Check the trade zone for that.

Cool song... need a bit more work on the vibrato though smile.gif

On topic
The pacifica is based on a strat right? You might want to look something that gives you a differnet kind of sound, ie. something with two humbuckers, or something with a floating bridge.
Also, depends on what sort of music you'd like to play with the 2nd guitar.

I wouldn't bother if I were you.

if I were to upgrade, I'll make the upgrade really worthwhile.

save up RM2k-3k and reward yourself with an awesome axe after that, it's worth it smile.gif

If u really insist on the humbucker, upgrade ur bridge pickup to a seymour duncan or dimarzio hum cancelling strat pickup.. those are thicker in tone.

Your pacifica is a good beginner model.

For a second guitar, you really should look to get something better in quality. What is your budget, and what music do you play?

where your epi is made makes a massive difference thou.
I tested a MIC epi LP-100 vs a MIK epi SG standard. guess which one had a fatter, richer tone? the SG. In fact, i didn't even realize that it was MIK until i noticed it sounded fatter and warmer than the LP, then i checked with the shop dude.

P.S. ==> the SG i'm talking about is at chambers. It's hidden in the corner somewhere near the kerry king signature.

i wouldn't sell the microcube. good enough for bedroom practice smile.gif
buying pedals is all up to you, go try out a few and see if you like the sound of them.
i'm thinking of getting a 2nd guitar too, still saving money cuz i'm planning to get at least an above average one cuz i don't think i'll be getting any other guitar after this one unless i sell off one(dont want to have more than 2 guitars).

imo, get something that will last you for the rest of your life thumbup.gif
don't rush your decision

Yea, save up some more, that budget can only get you a beginner/intermediate guitar. 2.5k would be the best starting off point. And if you solo a lot, i don't think the Epi LP would suit you because it has a chunky-ish neck, 22 frets and hard upper register access.

If I were you i'll go for something that lets me easy access to higher frets.

Fender is better than LP for this i think, but Ibanez is the best..

I love the rgr321ex and it's 24 frets.

You sure you want an LP?They're not very 'shreddy'.I find their necks damn thick and it's like impossible to reach the higher frets. But I think Zakk Wylde's is pretty 'shreddable'.

Zakk Wylde's neck is as thick as a baseball bat......
But the epi's version is slightly slimmer then the full Gibson one according to Everdying.

yea, the epi ZW neck isnt thick...the epi necks in general fall somewhere in between the 59 and 60 style...closer to the 60.

and who said thick neck not shreddable? you think trivium's former les paul customs had thin necks? tongue.gif
you think the dimes have thin necks? dream on.
like everything its technique, the thin necks just make it easier if your technique is right.

If you have long fingers that is.

Then you could reach those higher frets when the body blocks your palm.

my fingers are really short, and i can access higher frets on my les paul. its only 22 frets not 24.

if you have your thumb behind neck position pretty much nailed down, thick or thin necks doesnt really affect that much. i prefer thick necks coz it gives me more control when i do bends (with the thumb over neck position)

I am not really good at picking out guitars, but I managed to get my Mexican Strat from Mighty Music SS2 for about RM1k. It also is fairly reliable and rather sturdy. Not sure what you play since YouTube won't load ATM, but my Mex Strat has never screwed up and I would definitely recommend it to you.

heheheh...... careful......

user posted image

But the Les Paul is VERY shreddable on the upper frets. But I would rather play shredding solos on the RR3 because of the wider frets and the thinner strings. My Les Pauls are setup for "chunky" playing. But I do pull of solos quite well on the Les Pauls......

...............that is of course my VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY limited shredding skills tongue.gif

Stratocaster! Hehehhe.

I heard Stagg is good, cheaper and way better than squier's quality. Get it before they increase the price.
