For a second guitar, you really should look to get something better in quality. What is your budget, and what music do you play?

Yea, save up some more, that budget can only get you a beginner/intermediate guitar. 2.5k would be the best starting off point. And if you solo a lot, i don't think the Epi LP would suit you because it has a chunky-ish neck, 22 frets and hard upper register access.
