Means the GPS no need to go thru operator in order to connect to satelite? Great then.....hope i not getting the charges in my bill next month, or anyone who has using Garmin GPS or nokia map 2.0, mind to share the experience? appreaciate that smile.gif
Make sure u disable your AGPS!!!, else u have to pay 8cent per update
GPS alone is free for life
note: if gps fast on locking satellite, then most likely u hv activated AGPS
QUOTE(zjye @ Jun 10 2008, 12:11 AM)

If we're WIFI connected, will the APGS still access through our service provider?

yes, wifi have nothing todo with AGPS
AGPS get your current location via the GSM tower (multiple) and they hv satellite location database which make your phone locking on the satellite more faster
im not expert here, u can find more information on wikipedia

Ok, i found it, it's locate at
Menu->Tools->Settings->General->Positioning->Positioning Methods

After disable it can see the different with AGPS and without AGPS, it takes much more longer than AGPS enabled.

btw, "8cent per update" -> where you get this info from?

I am having another problem on the SMS or when I wanted to switch between chinese entry and english entry, I will have to switch over to other main menu and switch back to SMS before I can enter navigate correctly on Chinese entry.. I am currently setting Chinese entry as default.. but still having the same problem when set English as default..is this a common problem as what describe in the Garmin common error at the first page?
