That is good. The custom clearance is depending on your incoming passenger card. They will only ransacked your bag if you bring in potential hazardous stuff into their country. My luggages usually don't get ransacked or X-ray even when I went through Perth, Gold Coast,Melbourne and Sydney airport.
Have a good trip.

What i encountered @ sydney totally diff from sydney. In perth, officers stationed b4 immigration and even b4 custom and randomly asking visitors on those food items & etc. in sydney no such officers and once at imi counter they just check what u declared & let u thru thereafter and just b4 the custom, just 1 or 2 officers collecting the yelliw cards and decide which lanes to go. I got 7. Bypassed all screening haha

I used to travel in and out a lot in Sydney Kingsford airport. The Customs is very random, sometimes strict and sometimes relaxed.

A$150 climb- nahhh.. Better view by going up Sydney tower. Boring? Well, actually more lively than Perth for sure.. Surprisingly Eateries & Shopping complexes open till late at Night.. Even Coles Supermarket & Prceline Pharmacy open till 11pm.. Perth by 5-6pm it's almost a dead town except Friday night haha.. Sydmey even Thursday, friday & Saturday still lively till Midnite. smile.gif But for sure cannot compare wth the crazy Aisan cities lah.. Traffic in Sydney after 7pm so light. Jam free! most probably due to the high cost of parking in CBD and forcing the folks there to take public transports hmm.gif

Boring 1 thing, Avg meal/pax also already like hell.. Lucky I choose western over Asian during my stays. - Western food having big portion & sometime can share by 1.5ppl.. So for 3 order 2 can liao.

For Asian food, portion like KL but at the crazy similar price to western i.e at ~ A$9 till A$14.... Enjoy eating Steaks, fish & chips, Bacon, Pizza, pasta daily there haha..

Hi guys,

Will be travelling to Sydney next year in March with my family + uncle aunties.

What would be the most affordable place for us to stay? Looking at RM150-200 per night if possible (as we're staying for 9 nights).

Thanks!

Good lucj if you can find haha. Anyway your RM150-RM200 is per pax or per room?

Per room, it's impossible because the cheapest per room rate also ~A$120 dy or RM360/room. If per pax, probably shared bathroom type of hostel that you can get for A$60-A$80/pax. but shared with ~8 ppl

Like what stimix said, it's pretty impossible to find a room that's so cheap.
Cost of living is quite high in Sydney so be prepared.
Plus, if traveling with family, better to stay comfortably rather than those shared toilet hostels.

I bought the Airasia Go package to Sydney-without baggage, seat selections and in flight meal (will be added later).
This is what I got just now:

5 nights stay at Central Station Hotel
Deluxe Queen Bed
Free Wifi

RM1717.81 per person
Total: RM3435.61 for 2

Travelling the final week of May 2014. Return tickets priced at RM34 per pax.
Is this ok? Sorry, first time rclxm9.gif

As pe my PM to you, you got a superb great deal at RM34 per pax ticket (Most probably total return ticket of ~ RM550/pax without seat/baggage/food) but after checking the May 2014 rate for Central Stn hotel via booking.com, per room/night is only ~ RM400. Meaning, you probably getting cheaper deal if you book the ticket & hotel seperately hmm.gif

Unless your RM34/pax ticket inc of handling & taxes actually >RM700, you probably getting the best deal for the room from Airasiago dy smile.gif

The tickets are 1508, to and fro, with taxes and all. For 2 person. So, the room is priced at around 2000 for 5 nights, deluxe queen bed.
