if i use it to listen to music most of the day, plus regular usage throughout + games?

If you use Walkman 3.0 + Games (Java) :

From 100% battery : 30 mins - 45 mins = 60% - 50% battery level. (Assuming Non-Stop)

btw, Renee ald help me flash to the latest s'pore firmware, if i wanna update  my walkman 3.0, shud i flash firmware again? i scare it will go back to de original firmware...
*
Please be remembered that flashing firmware is like formatting and reinstalling Windows XP (no pun intended). Its like erasing your hard drive on C:\ which happens to be where your Walkman 3.0 is. You will need to hack W3.0 again if you reflash, and please be reminded that our W3.0 hack is on R9K009 firmware (latest).

my new phone so fast got problem already , my phone's sound will auto switch off for no reason and i need to restart the phone then only the sound will turn on.  cry.gif
i mean all the sound key pad sound ringtone bla ba  rclxub.gif
any sifu encounter this problem before  rclxub.gif

I personally didn't encouter this before, but Shufflerz might have experienced it before. Normal steps to troubleshoot would be :

1. Check firmware (Latest R9K009).
2. Check if the unit is faulty (dropped in water etc) : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/534463
3. Check settings.

Hay guise, my wife just bought a P1i, and she's loving it. I have some noob questions tho - how does the wifi surfing work? I need to be able to set it up for her. Last night I tried putting my home wifi into the list. It connected, but I couldn't surf anything! I guess it's a little different from my E61i. Does putting all other connections into a different group really help?
*
Putting the different connections into separate groups will help you avoid a nasty surprise on your phone bill. In case Wifi fails (assuming both 3G and Wifi same group), the phone will switch to 3G, as its the next connection on the list. If you use any encryption would might wanna use :

•WEP
•Shared WEP
•Dynamic WEP
•WPA Personal and WPA2 Personal

But remember to set your router into mixed mode and not G-only.

I need your help. Could you guys send me original forder for C:\shared\ for firmware R9K009. I think that the only way i can recover the original folder that M deleted

Reflash your phone. Other phone's C:\ drives files might even crash your phone further. The whole UIQ3 OS is very delicate sad.gif

oh via gprs.. im currently using u-mobile portable modem. with celcom broadband unlimited plan. just curious, if i can slot the broadband simcard to p1. n use it as the portable modem.. can bro?
*
P1i has 3G (UTMS 2100) at 384kbps. It should be possible. There is a software called m-Router that is installed together when you install SE PC Suite, used to make P1i a modem for your PC.

wifi b / g / n wat dif?
*
All other questions can be answered on the first page. As for Wifi technology I will give a summary.

Wifi B (802.11b)
Release Date - October 1999
Op. Frequency - 2.4 GHz
Data Rate (Typ) - 4.5 Mbit/s
Data Rate (Max) - 11 Mbit/s
Range (Indoor) - ~35m

Wifi G (802.11g)
Release Date - June 2003
Op. Frequency - 2.4 GHz
Data Rate (Typ) - 23 Mbit/s
Data Rate (Max) - 54 Mbit/s
Range (Indoor) - ~35m

As you can see, the only difference in Wifi B and G is that the typical (average) data rate is higher in Wifi G. Can you even reach 4.5Mbit/s on a Malaysian ISP line? Think twice. As for the recieving range of P1i, it cannot be compared to a notebook. The range is ok and performs reasonably well.

Sorry for the late reply!

I now officially announce the ending of Version 3 and the forthcoming of Version 4 !! All the best to the thread starter!

It has been a pleasure and joy to have written version 3 with you all fellow users of P1i. cry.gif Why everyone so fast want V4? Uhlaw too popular already cry.gif
P.S : I'll drop by once in awhile to grab new stuff. rclxms.gif

I suggest uhlaw open the new thread for a few reasons
1. He is very active in the thread
2. He contributes alot to the guides
3. Hes been with the phone for quite sometime
4. Me and Shufflerz dunno gone where

If anyone has other suggestions do tell, after confirmation I will / or Mod will lock the thread.

Note[1]: There is no point adding new users to the V3 list. Anyone who wants to have their names on the club tell it to the V4 President. I will be adding my last input of guides the Pop Up Menu !

Note[2]: My Walkman 3.0 Mod very hard to follow? Sad ah, I've been revising that since the first mod came out for Walkman 3.0 and still people couldn't follow. To fellow guide contributors, write one simplified one!

Note[3]: A suggestion to V4 Guide Posters (people who contribute) direct PM your guide to the President for faster processing. He might not be around everyday!
