You should see something like this when you get to MMS Accounts:

Further suggestions I can think of:
1) Uh, you activated your 3G service already right?
2) For some odd reason, restarting the phone worked for me last time.

It's called Quickpoint. Try and upload a ppt file to your phone, browse for it in QO and open?

You know you're bored when you can actually be bothered to VNC from your PC into your phone...

Guys (and girls), as a kind note in general, you shouldn't be afraid to try new stuff. I mean, most of the questions like "What is the use of <X>? How to install?" have:

a) already been covered somewhere in the pages of the thread (some diligent SEARCH or Google-ing with the right key words will lead you to the answer(s)) -- sometimes MULTIPLE times already.

b) already been covered in page 1 of the thread (this sentence has been sprouted more times in this thread then I can wiggle my little finger at...).

I'm sure most people won't blink an eye at installing some random piece of software into their PC. So go on, don't be afraid to TRY things out and see what happens! The worst that can happens is that you have to format and reinstall your phone OS -- just like when it happens to your PC.

In summary, "You try, then you will know.".

After close the application, Why it will still store in task manager? It will make my p1i hang, have any way to set it close when finish using the application?
*
When you start programs the first time, it'll take a while to appear on screen because the phone is loading them into memory (RAM). After you're done, you'll probably press the BACK button on the phone or on-screen. This isn't the same as "closing the application". You're just returning to the previous page / standby menu, but the program you initially started is still loaded into memory. That's why they still appear in the task manager.

SOME programs will remove themselves from memory when you press the EXIT or QUIT button -- but not all programs (e.g. Contacts, Messaging) have this feature.

Everything went fine till the 10 step. But M quite lost at the 11th step. How to acces the c:sysbin to install the trkdriver.ldd?
*
The "C" in step 10 is the C drive on your PC.

The "C" in step 11 is the C drive on your mobile phone. Use Swiss manager or X-plore.

*
If you did steps 1 - 10 properly, when you open SMP and browse to your C you will see sys folder. Inside that is the bin folder.

Yes i can see the sys folder, but i cant open it, it say protected folder. How?

Sounds like step 10 not successful? Try this alternative: instead of going to your computer C and double clicking 1.py, open windows command prompt (windows key + R), type "cmd" in the box then enter. Type "cd\" and enter. You should now have "C:\>" in the black window. Type "1.py" and enter. Lots of rubbish floats past. If you manage to see something like "!!!candidate!!!" means you've done it properly.

After the script finishes running you can close the command prompt.

after i enter the cmd command like you said, i got this:

Using port:

sending message number 00
frame does not end with 0x7E:-1
showFrameChecksum-incorrect:-1
received message number -1
>connect
sending message number 01

What does it mean?
*
Beats me. It's some script some chunted fella wrote to let people hack into their P1i's.
More importantly, did you get "!!!candidate!!!"?

Hmm, can redo step 5 and 6? Figure out which is your SE Application Port (COM X). Then in the text file make sure you enter ser = serial.Serial (X-1); it is one less (X-1, not X) than what you previously got!

Alternatively, follow the steps in the first page under "System Hack And Volume Hacking by Shufflerz [SHVH]". I followed this! biggrin.gif

can P1i straight away get all the contacts from the simcard??
*
QUOTE(uhlaw @ Jul 9 2008, 10:07 PM)
Cant... But U can do like this: Once u view folder from SIM, u just press "Back". Then it will be remained in task manager. So, everytime u press "Contacts", contacts in SIM will be shown. But  u need to do it once u switch on your phone
*
Alternatively, if all your contacts are on the SIM card, you can copy them to the phone, then make the phone's contact list the default one (SIM card contacts will not be accessed after that). You should too, since then you can access all the other funky features of the built in Contacts program.

guys,
my pc can't detect p1i upon connecting it via usb. as if no drver has been installed. i've installed pc suite 1.5.8 earlier.i'm running on XP.. anybody knows what's the prob?

2ndly, since my pc cant detect this device, im x able to update the firmware. is the any 'over the air' service to do so?
*
Suggestions:
1) D/l latest pc suite.
2) Disconnect usb from phone, restart phone and reconnect.
3) Keep fingers crossed, swear at SE and throw phone clear across the room, hoping the concussion knocks some sense into it (just kidding).

Can't update firmware OTA.

does anyone know of a way to make the P1i quadband by hack or application because my connection really is not that good. when i bought the p1i i knew it was triband so it wasnt going to have good signal with my service at&t but i didnt think this bad. if anyone knows a wa yplz post or reply by email in steps or walkthrough really need this. thanks!
*
I think the phone being triband or quadband is a hardware limitation, so you can't change the capability through some software hack.

Hi, Need some advice here.....
I have purchased some software for the P1i from the "local" computer shop.....just wondering how to install them to the Pi....thanks
*
Suggestions:
1) Bluetooth as a message to your phone, then "VIEW" the entry. Phone will ask if you want to install it.
2) Bluetooth directly into you C or D drive. Using file explorer, browse to it and open it. Phone will ask if you want to install it.
3) SE Phone Suite --> Application Installer. Phone will ask if you want to install it.

Be inventive! smile.gif
