I think 901 will be too slow for Vista. The 4GB SSD will be not enough even for nlited install.

i'm only install mozilla firofox .. but to open 1 file must wait for a long-long time .. huhu which tweak shud i apply to make it faster n faster?

i have a toshiba hitachi 1.8" 30gb external hdd + casing. bought 2-3 months ago from a seller here for RM80. since i have got a 320gb hdd now, im selling this item for RM50. i tot of keeping it for 900 but dun see it happen now. PM me if interested. prefer COD only.

hmm.. if such small squeaking or whinning noise is ok,, then i'm fine lor.. hehe.. just worried on any overvoltage/heat that might lead to explosion...

as for AV, you're right.. i personally dont like AV running on my system.. it just slows down everything.

Gosh, few subversions on the same motherboard revision? Now that misleading. Guess we'll have to open up the casing to find the answer. I think the 1.8" HDD solution is a better alternative if the price is not near RM350. Otherwise the 32GB for RM450 sounds reasonable because it also have 30GB of space and the performance is most likely faster including the advantages of a SSD. But I agree with you, SD cards are cheap and the non-invasive way of having more storage.

However, if users are using the Eee PC as designed I don't think upgrading the storage is ever required. Given internet/communication program does not require a lot of space and also the advent of Web2.0 applications, the default storage is actually pretty ok. User files can be saved on the SD card for utmost portability.
Well the Eee PC 701's resolution is lesser so you'll be doing a lot of horizontal left right scrolling. Not an enjoyable experience. Better aim for the Eee PC 901 or other alternatives with at least 1024 x 600 resolutions. The 1024 horizontal pixels is required because most web pages are designed to be viewed on a standard 15-17" 1024x768 resolution monitor.

Sorry to hear that. I thought 1.8" drives are cable-select.

if it requires pixel shader model 3 (DX9.0c) then no cos GMA950 supports up to PS2.0. Other than that everything looks good.

I was using 1101. Didnt know ASUS disable the IDE3 socket with BIOS 1202. Did u checkout EEEUser forum on bios 1202?

Come to KL to buy lah~ or ask trusted members to buy lah~ KL also not enough stocks so maybe due to this. Other area or states will be a bit late. If you guys buy at PC Fair now sure pricing is RM1749,the price so rigid due to high demand. 901 worth every of your penny. But you need time to adapt to its cramp keyboard or take Eee1000. 1000H can hear spinning sound one,same as MSI. Mayb jus a few unlucky one got d not so perfect machine. By d way, do not upgrade Bios if your machine is ok. Hahaha~

If open the cover to put the aluminium, will it void the waranty????
