QUOTE(camedemac @ Apr 27 2008, 12:03 PM) i manage to hit 2.76GHz at 1.525v vcore. I manage to hit 2.8GHz at 1.575v last time but due to limitation of my cheapo kingston-chip ram, my system was not stable. anyway, you can refer to this link http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...entry11320589Thanks for sharing the result BTW dblooi does have 2 more X2 3800+ F3, I still can't decide whether new cooler or new CPU anyone have any recommendation? Poison me

QUOTE(Najmods @ Apr 27 2008, 11:47 AM) How much Vcore does it take to reach 2.8GHz? And what mobo did you use? last time i set at bios 1.575v, but sometimes it show 1.6v using m2n-e...still using it untill now...so lazy to change other mobo...(no money too... ) better cooler arr...maybe u can try xigmatek or freezer 64 pro. Poison me even if u buy new cooler, u know that f2 aint gonna oc well..if f3, sure hit 2.9 wif stock vcore, means that u can still use ur stock cooler..still got more headroom for oc..but still, if u buy cooler, u still can use it for future upgrade, as the cooler can still be used..depends on how long u wanna use the pc..say if one year, better go buy f3..if only a month, but a cooler, then change proc later...

Hmm, good point. I don't upgrade often, everything now is quite adequate, although a bit CPU limited in benchmarks like 3DMark06. Alright I think I go with the F3

Well, yeah, hello Lacus. I got what I want in audio segment, now getting back to overclocking waters after retire for about 2 years You experiencing cold boot issue? I got that sometimes too, bumping out the Vcore a little fixed it

Well, i did. Now stressing the system on stock clockspeed. Any ideas if a hot mcp chipset will result in poorer system performance?

Its the chipset, the one responsible of all of communication inside your PC, its like a highway/road linking from one place to another and controlled by this chip, try to imagine if the chip is damaged.....
