yes, the outlet charger goes to the provided dock and the ipod cable is used to sync. but from my years with ebay, the cables sold on ebay (originating from hk and china) are usually fake

so u cannot restore/upgrade coz u cannot connected to itunes.. go pinjam real cable from ur fren.. then try to restore/upgrade again.

the phone came with all the cable and stuff ..its look original..and already compared with my friend iphone which he bought in apple store in us. and its same thing..even tried his cable..no success.

i think the firewire cable is from the old ipod (the cable looks old)..it given free to me by the seller..he said to me as a free gift..and now i know why(sorry to say)

i'll try to post the pict tomoro..coz he phone is at my house..in its original box.

i can restore the phone as i cant get it connected to my mac..so the main problem now is that..why it can't..is the Q. any body with same problem be4

its best for you to bring the phone to the forumers to hv a look since i believed many good heart & soul forumer would love to help to solve your problems...for FREE..its the knowledge they search not the benjamin....by hving the phone in their hand then it can be tell either it's fake or not...weekend is coming..so book them now..

Sometime iPhone sold in china use the HW method for the unlock. They open up the phone and solder a chip to the commboard itself. This was the early practise before software unlock was made fool proof.

frozzbyte maybe got a point there..coz i look carefully to my iphone..there's a mark resembling someone have openup the iphone. if this is the case..is it salvagable?..or it just gonna be an expensive phone only

after capture, erased the Serial Number and post it here.. just wanna make sure your iphone is not fake.

Damn dodgy this phone...in the original packaging I don't think there's firewire!!

the 2 cables
big head one comes from normal ipod packages
small head one comes from iphone pacakge
that one is firewire cable meh...i thought its called 30pin connector or something

firewire looks totally different..

so do i get my starbucks now?

Maybe u can connect the phone to your pc/laptop and try in DFU mode. Sometimes our pc/laptop can't detect the phone in normal restore mode but DFU mode can do wonders. Try that and see what happens. If not then maybe we can schedule a meet up.

fyi, firewire cable can only be used for charging. anything else, please continue to use the usb cable (general thumbrule)

the only thing for you, is to purchase songs directly from the itunes store!

Sorry ... been busy lately. I think your phone still can be save. But I'm not 100% sure. Must take a look first then can know. If its true that your phone have been modified by hardware, i'm not sure what will happen when u upgrade. Need to dig back the info in my head. Forgot already about hardware hack.
