Yeah, hardware stores are cool!

The J clip confirm was there, I didn't look around for the pliers only.

I love browsing around for ideas there smile.gif

That day, I found the rope like you bought, sold in rolls... If we had walked in together(the whole bunch that day) we could've bought it and share amongst us... Cuz it's cheaper in rolls. 1 roll of 50 yard(appx. 45 meter) is RM13.90 only if not mistaken...

Mealworms can climb on rough surfaces where their tiny front legs can grab on, eg: cloth, woods, cushions, etc.

Best to put the mealworms in the metal bowl when feeding.

Mealworms have traveled far in my apartment. From the dining area to my room, from my glider's room to my guest room sweat.gif

Yep, if they get loose, you'll find them in the nooks and cranny of your house/rooms by the following day or two tongue.gif

Hun, I think this should be in the 1st page too, it's about how to DIY glider e-collar... I just stumbled upon it and my first thought was broken _string... If only I had found this earlier sad.gif

Here's the step-by-step instruction then followed by the step-by-step photo guide...

-------------------------------
E-COLLAR INSTRUCTIONS:

1.) Trace template onto clear plastic notebook cover, then cut out.
2.) 1 sheet Dr. Scholls molefoam- cut 2 strips ¼” along long edge.
3.) Remove one adhesive strip and stick one on top of another leaving one adhesive strip for later.
4.) Cut ¾” off of dual layer molefoam- remove backing and adhese to clear plastic as shown.
5.) 1 sheet moleskin- sut a strip 1-3/8” wide down length
6.) Cut slits ½” deep at ½ “ intervals down length
7.) Turn collar over molefoam side down. Remove backing from moleskin. Affix uncut edge to collar- about ¼” of it
8.) From the middle of moleskin- wrap around over molefoam, maintaining contours. Trim excess mole from edge.
9.) Cut 1/2” strip from moleskin
10.) Remove backing and adhese over slitted mole skin.
11.) Cut 1 strip 1-3/4” long X 5/8” wide
12.) Remove backing and place on edge of collar
13.) Wrap around edge of collar
14.) The Complicated Collar- Apply a small amount of duct tape, Fold a small amount of duct tape over to make a tab for easy removal.

*Some stuff like the tapes can be replaced easily by those which we can find in our local pharmacies. Look at the photo guide and find something as similar to it.*

PHOTO GUIDE:

*From the Sugar Glider Alchemy*
-------------------------------

Apparently glider e-collar is very important and can save lives if the glider is self-mutilating.

And self-mutilating does not only happen if a glider is stressed, lonely and depressed... It can also happen if a glider is in pain even a little and does not know what to do(which suddenly points out to Micah's behaviour last time...)

Guys, do remember this, I think it is very important yah!

this collar is to avoid them multilating themselves.
like broken string's glider case before.
he was facing an infection sumwhere near the private parts and he keep on biting and the wounds keep on drawing blood. that's wut this collar is for. to avoid them from biting and make the wound worse.
but they are still be able to eat.

Yes, thank you spel'it smile.gif

The glider e-collar work the same like a dog or cat e-collar, it is to prevent the animal from biting a wound part/infection part and make it much more worst.

They can still eat and drink, but the e-collar limits them from reaching other part of their body.

An e-coller is a must in extreme cases.

Self mutilating or biting can cause blood loss, the wound getting worst and also further infection which can lead to death.

E-collars are for gliders that like to chew and bite themselves or when a glider has gone under the knife and the wound needs to be dry and untouched. That is not a dog collar.

I didn't come up with this idea, I found it and am sharing with everyone smile.gif

Yes, it's not for gliders to wear forever. Only during the time it is necessary.

I don't think it's to reduce or prevent them from becoming emotional or stress, it's merely a tool to prevent them from reaching their injured body part and making that injured part worst.

Once the injured part has recovered, the glider e-collar can be removed.

Haiyor, t's not to prevent a disease... Refer to my reply above...

Self-mutilating is not a disease.

It occurs if a glider is too stressed or too depressed or too bored or in pain or sometimes in can be from a bad genetic.

Don't forgot in pain too...

Meaning if they accidently hurt themselves, and they are in pain, they can/will start biting themselves because they do not know what to do to reduce the pain.

So always check up on your glider too for signs of accidental injury.
