Playing contra or speculation is totally different from investment.

Cheers.

There is nothing wrong if one opt for speculate.

Just what I meant is don't mix up speculation strategy with investment method.

Just like investment houses say ABC stock is good, or XYZ said target price is RMxx.xx. Then one takes it as speculation target. Not a right way to do. For speculate in short term, contra or margin play or whatever, you go for the 'on strength' stock that is in the move that potential to have high differentitate between price in short term.

becoz MAYBULK ship sail away already tongue.gif

from 3.70 - 3.90 - 4.10 - 4.30 - 4.50 (+30sens dividend)

now back to 4.10 - 4.20

so opt for KULIM, since it has more room for upside. (waiting for it to breach 7.90)

Resort could be cheaper entry than Genting. Though PE is about the same.

have more cash in banks and less debts.

More jobs to complete the casino ( earns before genting operates the Casino ) .

I opt for Resort vs Genting.

Not that possible in near term for capital repayment and privatisation.

Resorts just finalise and getting Singapore $4 billions loan. http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...83&sec=business

But future for the company is bright that will drive the stock.

based on past observation, when RESORTS price move, it will move around +0.080 to +0.160 (in a day)

maybe punters can buy it when it stands firm at 3.50 and above biggrin.gif

To me , it is like putting into FD 100K, then withdraw 20 k from it.

Net Assets would be less and drains out strong cash position of company.

It is basically to channel money to Genting's account to develop its business.

Aim for short term peanut is quit easy to get then. tongue.gif
It moves rather predictable, and in a tight range.

Actually privatisation meant you are no longer will be the shareholder again. Short term one might earn extra from the privatisation price offered, but one lose long term grow with the company.

Just like Maxis, we knew it is a strong and solid company. But even it took private at Rm15, but in future it might be a RM25 stock like Digi as company or profit continue to grow.

Worst still if one took the Rm15 to buy XYZ stock which might be a losing making company.

So privatisation is not a good news as only good company and value company is target for privatised. No one want to privatise a losing money company.
So privatisation can mean kill you goose to enjoy short term gain that lay golden eggs.

Just my 2 cents.

Yes , I agree 100% with you.

It is a loss to retail shareholders. When the companies are in troubles, they need you to be their shareholders.

When the assets appreciate like plantations, they say bye bye to you.

After that, they do wonder at the back door called privatisation ( making tons of money ).
