QUOTE(Neo18 @ May 20 2008, 04:38 PM) I don't understand one thing. Sapcres is not drilling oil one, it is just a oil servicing or provide infrastrcuture for oil rig or oil industry related construction, correct me if I am wrong. Why oil price is record HIGH USD 128/barrel. how come oil related counter can drop in value? price? like SAPCREST? For current high price of crude oil, the one benefit directly is those oil drilling company (like Saudi, OPEC) but for the like company with integrated oil industry (from drilling crude oil to producing petrol, diesel etc) eg. ExxonMobil, they are not benefitting 100% from it. In fact refining margin is squeezing currently due to high crude oil price because the pace of rising in petrol, diesel, distille product are not catching up the pace of crude oil rising. |

KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Capital Bhds net profit for the first quarter ended March 31 rose 52% to RM222.4mil from RM146.3mil a year ago, underpinned by higher net interest income and interest savings from its capital management exercises.
Announcing the impressive results Tuesday, RHB Capital said profit after irredeemable non-cumulative convertible preference shares (INCPS) dividends and before taxation was RM309.9mil, up 13% from RM273.5mil a year ago. RHB Capital said the better performance was due to higher net interest income, with loans and advances growing by 2% to RM58bil. Interest savings arising from the groups capital management exercises which were completed in January this year and the refinancing of the INCPS which was previously accounted for separately have contributed positive to the improvement in performance, it said. As at March 31, net non-performing loan ratio improved further to 3.23% from 3.43% as at Dec 31 last year. The groups loan loss coverage improved to 74.7% from 71.4% as at Dec 31. guess this will help rhb in climbing tomorrow |

QUOTE AirAsia falls below IPO price wanna goreng AA? next week will announce its financial result. By Goh Thean Eu Published: 2008/05/21 The main issue everyone is concerned about is the fuel price, says OSK Research SHARES of AirAsia Bhd fell below its initial public offering price in 2004 for the first time yesterday as investors feared that near-record high jet fuel prices and mounting competition could hurt its bottom line. The budget carrier's stock closed 4.3 per cent, or five sen lower, at RM1.12. "I don't think the investors are worried about the company's gearing. Its cash flow looks good. The main issue everyone is concerned about is the fuel price," OSK Research Sdn Bhd associate director Chris Eng said. Investors were also concerned over AirAsia's soon-to-be announced first quarter earnings, expected to be out sometime next week. Jet fuel prices closed at a record US$162.55 (RM528.29) a barrel in Singapore trading last Wednesday. AirAsia is also facing increased competition from Malaysia Airlines (MAS), which recently cut its fares to woo customers. "Across the board, all airlines are forced to innovate to come to terms in a higher fuel cost scenario," an Aseambankers analyst said. AirAsia shares have depreciated by almost 30 per cent, or 48 sen, so far this year. It has been a tough month for AirAsia. The stock closed higher only on two trading days, unchanged on another two, and lower on eight trading days. Since last week, several research houses have downgraded the stock to a "sell", while OSK has a target price of RM1.01. AirAsia, headed by group chief executive officer Datuk Tony Fernandes, is among 18 budget carriers that started flying in South and Southeast Asia in the past five years. Since then, increased competition has forced some of the low-cost carriers to go out of business. Indonesia's PT Adam Skyconnection Airlines shut down two months ago as funds dried out, while Oasis Hong Kong Airlines Ltd faced an almost similar problem and stopped flying last month. Several other such carriers have postponed their share sale. Update: DJ close -199. Guys, prepare shopping list for today. hehe.. This post has been edited by dreams_achiever: May 21 2008, 07:49 AM |
