Yup correct. I normally use engine braking in zones where i can downshift safely in order to slow down without much braking. And tap the brakes to give extra load the front end for it to turn better. I do this to save the brakes and fuel. But i'll make sure the rpm drop is not too high (i'll stress up the engine) or too low (affects corner exit speed and acceleration). Basically, must have enough torque out of corners.

Ic...if really ter'overwrite', then i think its the case where the name of ur cars .dds is coincidentally the same as one of the tracks .dds. U can try open up the .mas files for the track maps and check if there is a conflict in names. my two cents.

....there is 2 ways.

a - Rename the .dds in the .mas file (if we go this way, everybody including the server has to be updated with the modified .mas or else mismatch)
b - Rename your cars .dds and leave the track files intact.

I have the modified .mas uploaded. We'll see if its convenient for madnor to download and reload the server, we go for option a, and I'll release the link to the modified .mas. If Pitt can do a quick patch to the mod, we go for option b.

I followed the link PCcrazy provided earlier about the Engine braking and bump into this Setup Development Tool. Looks promising (requires Excel) and interesting especially the tires setup tool and the dampers. This can aid us in setting up the car in an organised way...lol

True....sometimes u got to ask urself and analyse if a certain problem such as tackling corners and car handling is due to the setup, track or ur own input. I always ask this to myself. If the setup is correct and the car supposed to go the way it should and i still have prob, then my driving is the prob.

I always tought myself as the main processor. I give all the inputs and the car should behave the way i want it to. And if my input is not good, the car wont be good. So the first thing that needs to be setup is myself LOL....the truth, im never in 'balance'...abit senget got la.

He always said he has learnt alot from the 'international guys' but he cant do consistent lap in zandvoort (an open track) and i doubt he can do it in porto. Hes erratic in his style....he managed a 1.44 in zandvoort but with how he achieved that timing is so erratic, it is not duplicatable. I wonder if ure incapable to learn from the 'local guys'...wut makes u think ur learning capacities suddenly change when u with the 'international guys'?

Edison...yup. Great plugin...havent tried it but having 2 overlapping replay is enough i think. more than that u cant tell which is which. Surely is a visual aid if u combine with motec.

Morning2....arghh...track temp is low...the sound of engine firing up in the pit garage....echoing away. Then turned off....retuned and fire it up again... sight of mechanics unloading sets of tyres under the blue shadow of the paddock. The smell of oil....and coffee.... XD

Like GG said earlier, survival is the key, especially in tracks like this. Especially the last busstop chicane, its a killer if u enter it with an unbalanced car. U need to be quick through there without any dramatic weight shift or else ull hit the barriers, and if u do, its not gonna be pretty there.

If would be extra slow and no cucuk angin unless the car infront is very2 slow. There is not definite overtaking spot in this track. The straights are not long enough and the corners are too tight. Quali is important here then...hoho
