babymiki,
At the moment unknow at Penang Island, because like some people introduce can bring the dog together to some Dog Friendly Restaurant. When until there, they asking why bring dog over here and dog are not allow at here. It already become shame!!! You need conform the Dog Friendly Restaurant before go there. The best one call up.
Like cofferbean and starbuck dont try go there. They are no allow. I mean Dog Friendly Restaurant is dog and human can sitting in air con area without any question by shop owner and other customer. If only can sit ourside not calling Dog Friendly Restaurant. That one I have full list of it.

just the staff dare not to halau or choose to not bother.

Thanks your opinion, that not calling Dog Friendly Restaurant was mention as most cafes with outdoor smoking area will allow pet along.
Dog Friendly Restaurant will be allowing dog and owner go inside sitting air con area, and not question at all by Shop owner and their customers. Normally they allow dog from small to medium. We also need to understand our dog able done well in potty training. Have some information need to know before go inside. Bring the dog do potty outside Restaurant first. Check with Restaurant gets the best location for sit.

Thanks you reply. Doing only for Dog Friendly Restaurant at Malaysia will loss 30% Malay customer, Chinese 30% customer, India customer 10%. Only can get 30% customer really able support. It will close soon only doing for dog and dog owner just only Restaurant.
Normally at USA will doing will Pet Supplies or Dog hotel and Dog Friendly Restaurant together.
But the way, we going do a Research at major city for Dog Friendly Restaurant with Dog Hotel, will start at KL first.

Hey guys, took my dog out for a walk/to have lunch today, and decided to search for a few other dog friendly places to eat.

I found 3:

Cafe Cabana
No. 41, Jln SS15/4,
47500, Subang Jaya.
Operation hours:
Mon-Fri: 7:15a.m-8:00p.m
Saturday: 7:15a.m-4:30p.m
Sunday: Closed
Serves: Variety of food, from Chinese-Malay-Western. Price range is reasonable, around RM10-RM20.

Station 1 Coffee
No.24,26 SS15/8B,
47500, Subang Jaya.
Operation hours:
Not too sure, but I see them open around 11a.m to quite late at night.
Serves: Not too sure either, I only ate their ice cream and banana splits there.

Shangeri-La Yong Tau Fu House
No. 19, Jln SS15/4,
47500, Subang Jaya.
Operation hours:
Not too sure.
Serves: Chinese set lunches mostly from what I've observed. Price range is reasonable, a set meal with rice+vege etc cost around RM5.50!
This place is also air-conditioned, and the lady there was quite nice smile.gif

Hope the info provided was useful to all the dog-owners in Subang area smile.gif

I already tired bring those dogs to air con Restaurant, it many job need pay attention. also hard for me enjoy the meal. It is no real Dog Friendly Restaurant, only come after dinner hour. If many people inside I might go back then stay there.
Dog more like the place able run wide. I already asking my dogs, they more like run wide then go to Restaurant.

Dear Forum Member,
So, you'd like to meet your best friend and gathering. You'd also like to bring along your other Buddy. Many restaurants with outdoor patios allow dogs, but not all. So you'll want to do a little research first. Introduced to everyone the Dog Friendly Restaurant. Please have a Restaurant picture and contact. Other else might Fake and someone get cheating from Here. Don't make that stupid thing!
Let me start first, I was bring my two buddy Miniature Schnauzer for dinner at here.

Dear fellow dog lovers,

I can vouch for both Sid's Pub and Boathouse as dog friendly eateries. I've been to both joints many times with my not-so-little Labrador as well as my friends' pooches of various sizes. At Boathouse, the owners bring their Shih-Tzu there on occasion and on certain days, a group of dog-lovers could be found there with their dogs. Sid's tends to be rather crowded at nights so bringing a large dog there at night might prove to be a little challenging.

The address/contact details for both Sid's Pub and Boathouse have already been posted earlier in this thread but I'll repost them here for convenience's sake.

I brought mt shih tsu to Loving Hut at Puchong Bandar Puteri..
The shop is a dog friendly shop..
As their concept is to concern about environment, and especially animals..
However, their food is all made in organic beans, so NO meat..
I've been there a few times, firstly im not a vege/bean fans, but their food is really yummy.. Even dogs are allowed to eat, because no preservative, no ajinomoto added..
Guys can really try this shop..
Is a nice shop =)

BOATHOUSE RESTAURANT

I visit this place(boathouse) last saturday. Really awesome place in terms of ambience wise for your doggies! Even my 2 doggies had their dinner on the plate. I ordered plain chicken for them. But one thing I dislike about this place is their menu cause it's very difficult to read. Their fonts, font size, colour, all out!! They need to do something about their menu!

ohya, another thing is their food (the way it is serve) for example, lamb (something). They serve with salty mushrooms with lady's finger & burn brinjal @.@. Almost all our dishes has burn brinjals @.@ sorry to say it's quite yucks! . Besides that, we ordered beef (something), and the plate is in rectangle shape (or what do I call it? it's basically very horizontal : not suitable. Better just give the normal round plates will do). Other than that the fish is okay, and another lamb is okay, but not with the burn brinjals please.

btw, has anyone tried this :

SID’S PUB
34, Lorong Rahim Kajai 14

any feedbacks?

hi..I called them up last saturday and it seems they don't allow? They said preferably not to bring your dogs along but if you do, you're not allow to sit them on the chair nor is allow to eat.

HALAL restaurants confirm 100% cannot bring dogs. It's very rude to bring an animal especially those size of dogs simply into any food outlet anyway. You might treat your dog as a family, but who cares? I find it very uncomfortable whenever I see some animal eating on the table beside me. I love dogs, but that doesnt mean we can make a restaurant like out own place. The worst is when owners bring their dogs to nasi kandar outlets. doh.gif o0o.

Where else in no-halal restaurants, if your dog is QUIET and small size then should be ok BUT still please ask for the management's permission.

Anyway, why must bring dog into food outlets? Can't just leave it at home for a few hours? If want to bring out, get a child. Don't dress a dog like a toddler and expect everyone eating around to accept it.

By publicising those pet friendly food places you are actually doing a disservice to them. You are jeopardizing their business. Although one may be a pet lover, eateries are not supposed to have pets in the premises for reasons of health and hygiene.

jeopardizing a business or an un-explored market niche,... let the business owners decide.

Those pet owners who dress up their pets are often willing to splurge on their furkids.
Pet treats and apparel is a booming business because of these owners,......

As I've mentioned earlier in this thread, some pets are more well behaved than children. Two beagles resting calmly on the floor at the outdoor section of a restaurant vs. two screaming kids running around throwing food, rubbish etc. - which is more annoying/unhygienic? I don't think generalising that dogs are unhygienic/nuisances is fair, especially when one takes into account the ghastly behaviour of some restaurant patrons (even adults let alone kids who aren't taught better). I check with restaurant staff to make sure pets are allowed and hey, if the restaurant welcomes pets, patrons who are uncomfortable are free to take their business elsewhere. And why should the size of the dog determine whether a dog is allowed at a restaurant? If my labrador knows to sit or lie down by my table obediently, doesn't bark, doesn't bother people if people don't instigate interaction (he WILL lick you if you go up and pet him, but that's fair game if you choose to approach my dog) and doesn't have a single aggressive bone in his body - surely he'd be better tolerated than a tiny dog that barks non-stop? Nevertheless I do ask restaurants if big dogs are OK because I understand some are concerned safety-wise (a badly behaved Rottweiler is a bigger nuisance and hazard than say, a badly behaved chihuahua).

As for hygiene if the dog rests on the floor and doesn't use the restaurant dishes/utensils I don't see the issue (which is what I practice with my dogs - I bring their own containers to place food/water in it or feed them by hand. Some restaurant staff are kind enough to even bring water in disposable plastic containers). I will say though that I can understand other patrons' discomfort at owners who place small dogs on restaurant chairs and have them eat off restaurant plates etc. (I have no problem with this, but I understand how others might be uncomfortable with this).

It's the restaurant's prerogative to decide whether to allow pets and the customer's prerogative whether to patronise a place which welcomes pets. I can understand getting annoyed at people who bring badly behaved pets to restaurants but blanket hostility is just uncalled for.

Not only halal restaurants, I think there is some law or bye law that forbids bringing pets into food joints. Some people, especially asthmatics, are allergic to animal hair and furs. Then there are such things as Toxoplasmosis, fleas, lice etc.

You don't seem to understand my earlier post.
Consumers who splurge on their pets are willing to visit a location more if their furkids are welcomed.

There is also laws for illegal gathering of more than four adult citizen in public spaces too.
You have a dim view in regards of dogs in general.
Human kids also can carry parasites.
Lets ban them too.....

well, if people want to claim/stereotype that bathed, well groomed, well taken care dogs as dirty and unhygenic to be in eateries, how about giving a thought to the following.

some people love/are addicted to smoking cigarette, and there are many who hates being forced to be 2nd hand smokers. smoking is hazardous to health, unhygenic and plain inconsiderate of people who dont want to be exposed to 2nd hand smoke. So, can we ban smoking in open air restaurants/mamak stall? some smokers even smoke in air-conditioned places, shopping malls and places of learning eg universities, schools etc.

if you were to tell a pet owner that pets are not allowed, they would quietly excuse themselves out from the place, but lets say if you were to tell a smoker that this is a non-smoking area (even WITH the no smoking sign up on walls), they would scold you or some would threaten you, that's why staffs dont dare to voice out to them.

It is the restaurant's choice to be dog friendly.

So I dont think it is an issue.

I would say that as long as the Restaurant itself is pets friendly, what the hell should those anti-pet patrons shouting for? You have the choice to choose, just like you have the choice to avoid mamak if you don't like 2nd hand smoke, my 10 cents smile.gif
