Not necessarily. They can change their BR to whatever figures they want, they do not have to follow the OPR
*
Oh really? I tot BR is set by BNM not the bank itself? Then what is the purpose of BR?

Hi guys, is there a best time to apply asbf?
Like perhaps end year etc
*
The best time to apply is when you reach 18 years old.

But if didn't manage to apply back then, the second best time to apply is today.

Because the longer you wait, the lesser time you will enjoy the returns. And you will lose the ability for compounding.

i've applied asb loan under ambank last may end, til now havent started my first payment. WA to agent asking for status, she said loan approved pending reimbursement. now already mid Jul havent reimburse. is it normal? and let say, if i want to cancel, how? after reimbursement, if i didn't pay the first month does it affect my ccris? how bout the loan, will be auto terminate?
*
Why u go apply and suddenly want terminate?

There are a few stages in loan application process. Depends on your current stage. Until certain stage u can no longer cancel and even if u want to terminate, it will take some times to process. (Approximately same time taken for your loan application). So in between the termination process is complete, you still need to pay for the monthly installment. And if you don't pay even the loan is auto terminate, if will affect ur ccris.

Currently, starting from 1 July - 31 July, ASNB is having a promo for the registration of Hibah Amanah. Hibah Amanah is sort of penama for your money in the ASNB funds.

Normal registration fee is RM 180. Now only just RM 50.

For more info: https://www.asnb.com.my/hapapromo.php

[wild_card_my] what happens to asb loan if one to pass away? how to manage that?  blush.gif
*
QUOTE(yklooi @ Jul 17 2020, 04:40 PM)
does that loan comes with takaful protect?
or you wanted both scenario?
*
QUOTE(PrincZe @ Jul 17 2020, 05:06 PM)
oh forgot about takaful. i think now is minimum takaful.
but takaful is the insurance that if u die, they will pay u.

the hibah amanah is just to disburse your asb dividen according to your will. correct me if im wrong  blush.gif
*
By default, if you don't have Wasiat for all your assets (which should include ASNB funds) or Hibah Amanah/Pengisytiharan Amanah (HAPA) specifically for ASNB funds, your money in ASNB funds will go to Amanah Raya. If this is the case, depends on the amount in the ASNB funds, waris will need some document from Mahkamah to claim the money.

HAPA will essentially allow waris to skip this tedious process and fasten up the process of claiming this funds.

HAPA should not related with Takaful.

QUOTE(MNet @ Jul 17 2020, 05:25 PM)
So does it mean if did not buy this services, if ppl die then the fund just sit there?
asn dont have the penamaam free service like the epf?
*
By law, ASNB funds is categorized differently compared to EPF or TH. Hence, for ASNB it will requires some fees. even though the penama things is FREE for EPF/THe.

Just add the accrued interests based on (interest rate/365) x outstanding pre-moratorium x number of chargeable-days to the outstanding balance, tenure remains the same, installment will increase - possible to use the loan calculator to calculate the new installment

If opt out what is there to calculate?
*
Does this apply for all the banks?

Cuz I just called CIMB and the CS mentioned the tenure will be extended.

So I called my bank again today. To ask how are additional accrued interest being paid later, the CS just straight tell me we don't have specific calculation for that yet. Will have to wait until end of moratorium for things to get in place. Wow.

Additionally, also requested is there any option for me to pay for the accrued interest i.e. only pay the accrued interest lump-sump at the end of the moratorium, increase my monthly installment etc. He mention there is no such option for ASBF.

From my experience, cs people have very little information. You need to talk to the product owners
*
So the only way to talk to product owners is to walk in to bank?

Now worth to get an asb loan?
*
I'm RHB agent myself but personally I think it's better to start paying for new ASBF only when the moratorium ends. No specific figures to back this up but I just feels it will be more level playing field with everyone else hence will be safer bet.

it can be. but there are stipulations on withdrawal on the distributions you earn from that account if I am not mistaken. Need to double check on this.

What is this about?

Yes.. Performed some last year... Maxed out on kid.. Bugger richer than I was at his age..  biggrin.gif On the plus side, play cards right and should be able to help towards an overseas Uni education or first crib or a Porsche when the time comes. Fingers crossed it’s the latter..  brows.gif
As at last year.. MBB says no restrictions for parents on withdrawals or even account closing until kid turns 18. Was deeply concerned about this before the move. But reassured it’s not an issue. Of course, must monitor new laws, etc as time goes on and pull all out, should talks of imposing restrictions occur. It is self funded after all.
Trying to gain more through your kid (dump in ASB1 vs self fund ASB3, etc funds..
*
Yup I tot it's always better to maxed out ASB1 instead of other funds. Either self or proxy. Not aware that there is any withdrawal restriction for under18. Just that for under 18 cannot do ASBF yet.

need your advise. i am planning to buy house but at the same time interested to apply ASBF.

which one should i do first, get housing loan approve the proceed with ASBF or vice versa

and which bank give better rate for now?
*
I would advise you to go for housing loan first, then only ASBF. ASBF is easier to get approved.

Currently the rate for RHB for >RM 100K is 3.60 (without takaful) and 3.55 (with takaful). You can let me know if you need help with the application.

Last i know ambank is 3.6 for >RM 100K. Not sure about other bank, interested to know as well if anyone have the info.

They disregard the asbf instalment as commitment?
*
Monthly installment will still count as commitment. If the bank count asbf as income, it will count the dividend amount. And some bank count 100% dividend as income, some bank might be 80% or less.

Your existing rate might not reflect the bank rate for new application. For RHB rate you can find on previous page.

I remember reading somewhere in serious Kopitiam that when we convert ASB cash units into sijil, the softcap somehow expanded?

Like I have 239k (200k financing + 39k cash units). Say if I were to convert 39k into sijil, I can pump in up to 39k cash additional. Is it true? Is sijil even still exist now we're only using online (no books) biggrin.gif
*
You can only have 200k max sijil. Remaining soft cap can only be in form of cash.

200k max including financing I suppose? So the answer is no?
*
When you do financing/loan, the money in ASB is in form of sijil. Unless, there is another way to bought sijil without doing financing/loan.
