QUOTE(SWATwolf @ Apr 5 2008, 07:52 PM) seems like u guys says sony is better, so i guess i'll go for it. thanks guys. now is to work and save 1st if you want brand to show off because you have more money and can afford the more expensive sony - then by all mean get the sony. if you want an a 32" LCD TV, Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung, Sharp ALL at or under RM2,000. Check the Audiophile thread- there are plenty of people selling LCD TVs at the price that i have mention. Prices starts at <>$1,800 (Samsung).

Personally, I'd just recommend a 1080p lcd tv to you blu-ray fans. Philips got a 37 inch PFL7422 1080p tv around RM3k. Most places sell them around 4K though.

My friends own one of the sony centre and he gave me that price. he said SPECIAL PRICE only for me. So far noone can give me that price ... I nearly bought a Sharp 32a53m for my xbox... but in the end i've settle for something average but works for me. LG 32LC7R . So far SOO good. For 32" i don't wanna think about it too much ... If i'm purchasing a 42 and above i might consider a sharp. hehehe

I don't think it's that easy to decide based on brand alone. Both Sharp and Samsung are equally good brands. You'll want to compare which particular model you're interested in. Samsung alone already has many series: S7, S8, R7, R8, and more recently the M series. Only the M series is capable of accepting 1080p signal. I can't comment on Sharp since I haven't used one personally.
I'm using the 32" R8 Samsung model. It has 3 HDMI ports and is 720p native. 360 games look bright and vivid on the TV. Unfortunately, it's not "perfect". HDTV lag can occur if you don't tune it properly. You can practically see framerates drop in games, and in movies it's even worse. I love the TV nonetheless, once you get down to finetuning it.
Do you insist on only these two brands? If you're willing to broaden your option, I'd suggest looking at LG. LG recently released their new 32LB9R TV. It outputs at 720p, but can accept 1080p signal. And the price is only around RM2600. It's worth looking at.
