No Sony? hmm.gif laugh.gif

If you read around, they're not highly rated by AV enthusiasts. Sony buy their panels from Samsung and Sharp anyways.
If Sharp is the number 1 LCD in Japan, Sony is number 1 in advertising themselves, throughout the world. laugh.gif

32LG53FR can accept VGA input of 1920x1080 @ 60Hz with GTF timing. By default, this resolution is not selectable from the resolution slider (I don't know why), you will need to create custom resolution via the NVidia Control Panel.

Sorry for ATI owners, as you cannot create custom 1080p resolution and by default, this TV doesn't have this resolution in the resolution slider.

Let me tell you my frustration with the VGA input, this TV does not even support 1680x1050@60Hz !! But 1680x1050 is supported via DVI->HDMI (Digital input)

My colleague just bought this 32LG53FR at RM1994 early this month at HLK Electrical chainstore, so this price is for real.

Thanks for the feedback tanghm.
So means it can support xbox360 VGA output at 1920x1080? Mine is the older generation without the HDMI output.
Is the TV good for xbox360/ps3 and occasional bluray playback?

No HDMI? Chances are, your TV not HDCP compatible, so no BluRay/PS3 for you sad.gif

No no .. what i meant was my xbox360 only has VGA output (No HDMI output). I'm currently using LCD monitor (HDCP compliant) for both xbox360 and ps3.
So need to check whether the LG LCD TV able to accept VGA input at 1920x1080 from xbox360? For ps3 via HDMI, it should be no problem supporting 1920x1080.

doh.gif I thought your TV no HDMI input doh.gif

If your TV is Full HD, I can't see why it can't display 1080p via VGA hmm.gif

hmm im not sure bout this but when i plug my laptop to my hd ready tv (720p) via vga cable it doenst show the resolution on 1280x720, instead it runs on 1350x768

for those who want to play games on their ps3 only, i wont just suggest hd ready hdtv is u r under low budget.

but to those who wanted to watch blu ray as well, i would suggest to get a full hd tv

I dont have an XBOX360, I can't confirm that for you. I have only tested 1920x1080 on VGA cable using my computer here, and that also need to set it via custom resolution.

Older generation of XBOX360 can output 1920x1080 via its VGA jack ? Maybe you should try it with a computer monitor that is capable of displaying 1920x1080 via VGA first.

This is the resolution table taken from the User Manual

I'm using LCD monitor at the moment, and considering to upgrade to LG LCD TV. So need to find out whether the LG LCD TV able to support 1920x1080 via VGA input.

Yup, older generation xbox360 is able to output 1920x1080 via its VGA jack. Just need to confirm whether the LG is able to display 1920x1080 via its VGA input. What's your comments on the LG 32" TV?

My 32LG53FR Comments

Pros
- 20' Swivel Stand, I can face the TV to my bed or default
- XD Engine dynamic contrast switching produces high quality black level
- Full HD !! Capable of 1920x1080 resolution via VGA or DVI->HDMI from PC input
- Multi functional remote control, you can control your DVD player and ASTRO with it !! (Need to set the device code into the remote first)

Cons
- Sound quality is not that great (coz speaker is facing downwards)
- A little bit of image bleeding (image shadowing) on the image when connecting it via VGA input. Noticeable only when looking closely. (take note theGOne)
- One stuck green pixel on my unit T_T, noticeable only at 2 feet distance

@defaultname365
Philips ? Ever wonder why not many recommend Philips here ? =.=
