I have a quick question, a very noob one.
I'm currently locked on O2 and under their contracted service. Is there anyway i can use 3rd parties application software without unlocking/jailbreaking the phone? I dont know what to search for on google therefore i'm asking it here. I'm very envious of my friend's iphone, it seem like their iphone can do so much more compared to mine. |

You can't use 3rd parties apps if the phone is not jailbroken. Jailbreaking means giving full access to install apps other than the stock ones. You can do the jailbreaking only since you have a legit contract with O2, no need for unlocking and activate.
Hope that helps. |

Unlock is to allow your iPhone to work with any SIM.
Activate... that I don't know, I ain't an iPhone user. :/ Jailbreaking is to open up (or whatever it's called) the iPhone's filesystem so you can install third party applications. |

Activate means to bypass the activation system in itunes and the phone itself. Remember when u first dock it with itunes it ask for an activation (well for US iphone it does). I don't know if the same thing applies to O2. What activate means is that it apply a patch lockdown file so it makes the phone think that its been activated.
