Hi guys. I have a basic piano knowledge and I used to play on a normal piano. Now I want to start play some music on the keyboard.

I intend to play classical musics and some modern eloctronics stuffs as well. Is there any keyboard that can also produce synthesizer's sounds? Something that is kind of versatile and costs less than RM 1k..

Can anyone please give me some suggestions on what instrument model should I buy? I don't mind some old models as maybe I can find a second hand model over the internet.

Thanks.

what do you mean different? their "layout" is exactly like a piano. just whether it's 66 or 88 keys, OR light-weighted or heavy-weighted keys.

anyway, hello everyone. i'm a classically trained pianist too. finished my grade 8 about 6 years ago. now i play contemporary style. hehe. i own a kurzwell SP-88.

yup, it's the same exactly with more key, and different touch feel. theory is the same, hitting the same note gives u the same note

Though i would say controlling the dynamics will be something difficult to adapt too if you get to used to to keyboard rather then a proper piano key.

lol.. i am emphasizing on the note, at least u can learn proper theory with any keyboard, C major sounds the same in a real piano or any keyboard.

sad thing my vocal instructor quit, thinking to switch to piano lesson or not. swt.. had 3 instructors so far, dont know why everyone dont teach for long

hello clans, i jus bought a 76keys yamaha keyboard recently and joined in a keyboard classes, actually my tutor was specialised in organ teaching...

I dunno if im on the right path, cause i intended to play piano in the 1st.. go for keyboard as the substitute for piano instead... I dun mind learning pop or classical , but as i going through the classes of my tutor, i found that majority of the classes lets my left hand in free, i mean my left hand are left just doing chords...

Is it the same for piano lessons? i was just learning for 1months, my left hand was just playing the C , G and F Chords... and my right hand was just playing the 5 keys over and over again... is it a very slow progress? i have no basics and fundamentals on music as well...

can anyone give me a clear guidance on this? i dun mind taking long time to learn to play, but i need to know whether im on the right path biggrin.gif

thanks

^I agree with naughtyz.

The sounds totally off. sad.gif

I bought a 66 keys as well, end up selling it coz the sounds totally off.. doh.gif

Anyway, still looking for an upwards 88keys piano less than 2k. I stopped at grade 3 sad.gif coz of time. Now I got time, but no piano to learn.
