Crazy la for the battle song....

Anyway, Who can play FFVI decisive battle here? and btw... is it ok for us to rearrange the sheet so that it is managable by our playing skill? sometime I really felt that the timing and transition very hard for a few piece
*
well, if u find that the song is hard, try to find out the left hand chord, and write it out "Dm, C, G7, F7" etc etc
then u can play the chord in any way that u are comfortable

sometime its nice to rearrange, then u will be good at improvising and u understanding chord better.
oh here is a tip for u: adding a suspension 9 note will sound nice in a chord.

EXAMPLE:
C chord

C E G

you can play

C E G C D E G( broken chord)

get the pont rolleyes.gif ?

haha true that. guess I will take my time and learn it up slowly, the hard part is the speed, let me slow everything down by 50-100%, I am sure I can play it

then gradually increase my playing speed
*
when i play fast no mistake.

i play slow mistake everywhere

do you consider unevenness and inconsistent a mistake?
*
nay, when i ply slow i think too much, its my finger curve enuf, atticulate enuf, is my hand relax etc etc. too much on my mind until like that. unsure.gif

but when i play fast,im enjoying myself, enjoying the music, and loving evey moment of it, so no tension and the fingers are relax.

Its about a guy who plays the piano by reading score paired with a girl, which is totally opposite, who plays by ear.

I'm new in the CLANS of Piano. I started learning since 5 years old and got my Dip LCM at 19 years old. After that I went to Melaka to further my studies in IT which I rarely practice/maintain my skill at the dip level. Now, after 3 ears graduated from Uni, I started to play back my piano.

I'm currently teaching Piano at Bandar Mahkota Cheras and most of my students are beginner. Sometimes, the school will dump very very young kids to me as young as 4 years old. SOmetimes, the school will dump a student who wants to learn POP song.

So, have to learn to be flexible in your teaching because what the school bother is to GRAB more student regardless whether the student actually can follow the lesson or not.

welcome welcome XD
at last somebodi who does LCM!

my piano teacher doesn't even have degree/highest diploma, and he's getting payment higher than that.

does cert matter? moreover, does having the cert has anything to do with ability to teach? unsure.gif

regarding the payment, it'll be OK if the center has very good facilities and beginner fees are starting from RM90. if it's not, a little hak pok i'd say.
*
well, he/she just graduated from uni, so he/she is 17+2+3, 22 years old ma, so how to ask banyak banyak.

having a degree/diploma have nothing to do with teaching, BUT it has to do with the amount of knowledge the teacher learned during the process when he/she studied in the university. example, whats the diffrent between a person who studied in julliard, and a person who hasnt?

well, the person who studied in julliard has way more knowlegde and understanding of music and dynamics and is ready to pass on the knowledge to the student.

having a diploma/degree has nothing to do with teaching, but it has something to do with having more knowledge to pass on when teaching.

you missed the point. even you have the knowledge, will you be able to pass it through the next generation if you don't have the ability to teach? do you think every student is the same plain white paper made from the same material?

also do you know that degree holder especially master and above normally won't teach in music center?

and finally, it's not that the she's asking a lot, the fees the center pay is below average, a.k.a underpaid, at least compared to KL/Selangor area. i don't have much clue how much is the average pay there, though.
*
well i live in small town in kedah and i think the fees is quite average. but im 16 and the cost of living here is low in here.

anyway, u are right too, even if a person have a knowledege, but has no idea to pass it down, then it shall alll go down the drain.

BUT,

if a teacher who has
A master degree from julliard+ Ultra duper awesome teaching skill,

then u has a awesome teacher.
'cept, u dont get perfect teacher's like that. sweat.gif

eventhou what, answering the question before, having a degree/diploma will get you a higher pay no doubt.

Hi fellow pianist! Joining the club smile.gif I stopped playing more than 10yrs ago. was ABRSM grade 5 then but recently just got myself a yamaha keyboard. quite surprised i can still play after a little practice... tho very messily and sloppy biggrin.gif

I can't sight play at a glance... I now memorize the sheet for my finger positioning and listen to youtube/mp3 for the tempo and dynamics... nodame style.. haha

Anyone here attended Play by Ear classes? I like to hear your comments before I decide to enroll. They charge RM500 for the 1st 10 lessons.
*
Welcome! thumbup.gif
i dont think you nd the play by ear course cause that course is for those who nv learn before.

if u still have ur abrsm 5 cert, u can take to the music centre and coutinue ur abrsm grd 6. u just nd sometime to pick up.
WE can nv forget how to play it, it tends to get sloppy, but can be shapend.

anyway,u learn more in ABRSM studies compared to play by ear.

The reason i stopped my ABRSM studies was because it was too formal. I don't like taking exams and forced to practice songs that I do not like. I only like playing songs that i can relate to, like songs from my favorite anime, drama, games, pop songs... since Play By Ear classes seems to be more casual, not sure if it'll be more suitable for me.
*
then i would recomend play by ear.

but u can try "synthersizer" course, is more proffesional, and is more fun brows.gif

u get to mix all kind of sounds together and become a full band urself.

hi guys

does anyone know any website or has any malays songs piano sheet coz i couldnt find any in any search engine?
*
usually i dont think u can find web that host malay sheets becuase the demand is little.

if the demand alot, then somebody host it.

The best is to go local store to find the book which have it or learn how to listen and play

ermm any reliable free sites that provide sheets for jazz scores?

all i have are those sites that give you the 1st page and ask you to pay. . . rofl. . .
*
its illegal i think laugh.gif

usually composer from the baroque to romantic period sheets are free cause the composer and dead and no copyright.

the rest are kinda hard unless a person arranged it.
