When you say, "Who will win?" - What do you mean by that? Vocally? Showmanship?

I used to love Mariah Carey but almost totally lost respect for her nowadays. Her music quality's gone downhill and she starts flaunting her body like every other bimbos in the market nowadays. It's really sad actually. Mariah had a very good voice and she don't have to slut herself just to get to the top again.

While some fans might like her new hit 'Touch My Body', I have to say I hated that song. It's such a long long way from her previous hits like Hero, and etc.

Madonna on the other hand - at least her voice's getting better/improving compared to her 'Like A Virgin' or 'Material Girl' days. Is Madonna a good singer? I honestly don't think so but if you see the progress of both MC and Madonna and compare them - I'd say the winner's Madonna.

Just because Mariah's getting her 18th hit doesn't mean she's improving. Take her new video for example - I wonder if the song will still be a hit if she's not dressed in her undies and singing about touching bodies.

People have been bashing mariah for being overly sexual and doing too much of r&b these few years but i would say that it has been her style all the while. If u watch her music vids from the 90's, she had always been portraying a sexy image.

About her style of music, u cant expect her to sing ballads forever juz becos she has a big vocal range . She has roots in african cultures too. Shes juz doing wat she likes and i think shes doing a great job. She writes some of the best r&b's imo.

And her whistle register pwns madonna...

I agree also. Though hardcore fans that have been following her all these years may not like the "new" Mariah Carey, I guess that is how she have grown up to. She gone to a more rap rnb like songs, and ditched the ballads that made her famous.

She has gone through alot of problems with her relationships and record company. All this time, she have been hiding herself.. doing what Sony wants her to do (which are ballads). But now she got more space to express herself after the divorce with Matola and Sony. Her true strength are in ballads but now she is more interested in rap-hiphop-rnb... and expressing her sexuality.

This reminds me of Britney Spears, she gone through the same situation too. When she first started off, she was portraited as the "Girl Next Door". Her newer albums are more catchy and expresses her true self.

after listening both hard candy and E=MC2, i find that E=MC2 has better enjoyable tunes 2 than hard candy. hard candy is too electronica ala confessions of the dance floor rip which my ears hate it very much. old madonna is still the best because of her works being less electronica and more hotter pop unlike now. this is just personal preference ya.

E=MC2 is better. Madonna is such a copycat. She knew Mariah's still the leading pack of female artists, so, she just copy her music style, she collaborate with top notch hiphop producers like TImbaland. However, hard candy sounds like an old lady voice, she's nt improving

mariah vocal prowess is awesome. her entertainment = mariah carey too is more enjoyable.
doesn't matter about her big boob and curves. her voice are better than 'em.

madonna seems to be trying too hard in her candy style.
