QUOTE(-Teddy- @ Apr 3 2010, 03:01 PM) Just called them. They say they have my information, but it's not completed yet, whatever it means. They say they will call the registration department to follow up and ask me to wait from 2 hours to 24 hours. Saturday is sure not the best day to register for something eh? Added on April 3, 2010, 5:08 pmFinally activated. From Cheras: By the way, how slow will Maxis throttle my speed after I exceed the pathetic 1.5GB quota? the throttle speed will be 128kpbs just wait till nxt mon, sure they hv all yr info ready by then..

lol.. just live with the throttle speed since it's so expensive to buy extra data volume. better still, just sign higher quota if you expect to use more every month.

QUOTE(dyaf @ Apr 4 2010, 08:17 PM) Yeah, i don;t think they would do that for non contractual users. All the users would unsubscribe immediately if they increase the price. Because it is not contractual bound. So far have you reached the volume quota yet? If so, how is the capped speed like? Mind to show up the speed meter? me still using less than 1GB.. i only use it at home after work to surf net n also chatting. din really do much heavy download/etc.. Added on April 4, 2010, 8:34 pmQUOTE(future80 @ Apr 4 2010, 08:32 PM) only not worth is quota only 1.5G. need maintain 50Mb everyday. it is very fast to getting 50Mb perday as if 1 email has 10Mb attachment, 5 email would used up 50Mb. the old RM78 permonth plan is based on contract or not? it not, it wil auto change to RM48? 10mb attachment? hot n spicy email eh.. QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 5 2010, 11:36 AM) Not only cheapest, its the best at this price. 7.2Mbps download, 5.76Mbps upload... Of course... all this means is that it will be future proof and operational when Maxis or other telcos (if you choose to unlock) upgrade their infrastructures. I realize that most mobile broadband service cannot sustain high upload data rates. Nothing to do with the technology because I was using Digi Broadband in its early days and was maxing at 3xxkbps. Then it was reduce to 2xxkbps and finally somewhere similar to Maxis. I don't know if this is telco related or what... but it doesn't seem to affect our regular browsing, streaming and downloading since we use downloads more for these purposes. Maybe they trying to curtail P2P sharers? I do know a few MBs email attachment takes a long time to upload. Thats the only problem I see. For gaming, still ok ok lar... bear in mind, the 7.2/5.76 mbps is more on the gimmick side. it's really hard to achieve such speed in normal condition. somemore, it also depends on yr location.. but so far, i think most maxis user here are quite satisfied with the current speed and consistency of maxis.

Added on April 5, 2010, 1:39 pmQUOTE(KKW @ Apr 5 2010, 01:24 PM) for me at my housing area.. average speed 2mbps at my campus, average speed 5mpbs that's good.. btw, is there any capped speed? my hse eh coverage nt that good, but so far the line is stable. this is more important to me as i'm able to surf net/msn/fb game without much dced. QUOTE(fastreader @ Apr 7 2010, 08:43 AM) the modem is good too...not to say that it is bad...BUT its not as mobile as the thumbdrive type.. rebate?...not so sure about tat....termination charge?...if u subsribe to 1.5GB and GET their modem, then u needa pay RM150.00 upfront...then every month u only pay RM18.00 for 5 months... ON the 6th month, baru u pay Rm48.00..tat means u pay Rm150.00 upfront for the modem, then every month rebate from ur bill....meaning every month RM48.00 minus Rm30.00 FOR 5 months... If u cancel before 5 months, u cant get ur Rm150.00 back, BUT u can keep the modem...its like u bought the modem lah... those like "ADSL modem" you talking about, it allow few ppl to access to the net using wireless and lan cable, rite?
