Screw Maxis. Disconnecting so frequently since Friday. cry.gif Have to keep going back to 192.168.0.1 and selecting Manual Connect doh.gif

Anyone experiencing the same thing?
QUOTE(omniknight86 @ Feb 9 2009, 03:02 PM)
heard the maxis said that they are now "upgrading the service"  sweat.gif i do not experience that

but however my 192.168.0.1 is showing all the RSSI and the other setting is negative which mean my signal are damn weak and it is very weird.... sweat.gif  i complaint on the 2nd of February and until now no answer yet...so i called them yesterday and tell them "if you do not call me on Tuesday, i am calling the press to tell them how good Maxis is"  and hang up the phone  biggrin.gif
i'm in the same situation with u guys. signal suddenly got weaker, and the modem wouldn't connect in either UMTS or EDGE mode.

called maxis and they said they are upgrading the tower/service since the last 3 days at my area.

im at bandar baru bangi, seksyen 4.

seems like maxis has really upgraded its service?

im getting fullspeed here in bangi(80kBps++, advanced package). and RSSI isn't blinking anymore. speed dropped to 1/2 during peak hours, but i don't mind that. atleast no more turtle speed and DC.

before this no matter where i put in the house, it's still blinking for the past 4 months.

I do not know that maxis bb has a cap of BW. How about streamyx or celcom bb? Do they have so? I want to try maxis bb, the new huawei E960 in penang. But looking for more info before I hit the button

maxis = 3GB, can be found here: http://maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/termncon.asp

QUOTE
5.3  Excessive Usage

5.3.1 Each customer’s total usage per month shall NOT exceed 3GB of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times.
5.3.2 Maxis reserves the right to reject the said application or charge for any additional data volume transmitted from what is already allocated.

celcom = 5GB, can be found here: http://www.celcom.com.my/cep/xresources/Ce...fair_usage.html

QUOTE
3.2 For customers found to be utilising the service excessively and exceeds their monthly volume allocation of 5 Gigabyte (GB), Celcom will reserve the right to reduce the customer’s speed or bandwidth with or without prior notice. This action by Celcom is to ensure that fair access to all other customers on the same network. This speed or bandwidth reduction will take effect from the day the breach is detected and will last until the customers next billing cycle date. On the bill cycle date, the customers volume allocation will be reset and the customer will then be promoted back to their original speed allocation.

streamyx = unlimited (depends on package)

Thanks cloudstrife07. If we didn't use P2P, I think it's a bit hard to hit over 3GB or 5GB usage per month. What do you guys think? Has anyone reach the limit that is not using any P2P?
*
im not using p2p at all and yet im over 3GB almost every month smile.gif

er. this should prove what? i mean, last time when i'm with MaxisBB, my usage all over 5GB every month too.
*
nah, im just telling jeremynet that even normal usage of internet without p2p, my BW usage is more than 3GB already..hence maxis's TnC seems ridiculous to me.lol.

i gave up with maxis already. when i finished studying here in gmi, i'll terminate the contract, which is around mid-june.

i got only 1 full week of fast internet. the rest?sucky UMTS mode where i cant even load pages properly. and sometimes i couldn't connect at all.

all i get from the customer service is that "we're upgrading the towers in your area to provide better service" shit.

sigh.

and now i'm on HSDPA, but the speed on my phone using GPRS is better i guess.

QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Mar 2 2009, 11:38 AM)
fark Maxis BB customer service and technical team.
Totally the same as TMnuts ... typical Malaysia company..

Been complaining over my issue for 1 whole week.
Keep asking me to change setting from my side and finally after i got fed up with a few tries... the technical teams says it is a network error. Promises an answer within 3 working days.

Called up again today to inquire it. Was told that there were no cases reported for my account. The bloody kind CS offers to report it again and told me, it'll take a farking 7 days and when i asked for a case/report number, he said he'll call me later and give it me ..

wTF .. what kind of system are they running on? No report number generated after reporting? Need to wait?

I admit the speed of the connection is fast when everything is ok, but .. it has been more than 1 farking week that i can't connect from my office.
*
same sentiment here. and what makes me more fed up with them is that no rebates for our disconnection period, which is for me around 2 weeks. even screamyx gave rebates during this dark hour of internet in malaysia.

my start was good. i subscribed around march 2007. speed usually around 100kBps~200kBps daytime. and i can torrent anytime. believe it or not i played online game with the wbb during that time. now, don't say online game lah, opening facebook also takes years to load shakehead.gif

Wow, right after the email was sent, problem solved + instead of te usual 4bar of UMTS network, i am seeing 5 bar of HSDPA ...

Now i can connect to the network. So calling their hotline is totally useless.
Go straight at their exec or management is better...
*
nah, it's a coincidence i guess. since i was also in a situation as you before this, but somehow today the line back on HSDPA, and faster. something to do with TMNet's 5march2009 service restoration?

Might be coincidence, might be not.
What i do get confirmation that it is issue with their network instead of client-side like what their customer service were suggesting all the time when i call them.
And also i get to know that those customer service operator NEVER and DID NOT reported my case to the technical dept.

It was until my email were sent out to one of their corp comm person, where she help me to forward it to senior of customer care and technical team. It was until then only my case were 'officially reported'....

Although case resolved, i get back my connection.
BUT I FARKING BOHSONG on how i was treated and I had to use my postpaid account + phone as broadband modem during that period.
*
bolded part is quite awesome sweat.gif

sigh, i guess maxis wbb will never like the good ol' days where i can play online games and torrent anytime with speed 100kBps++..

Lol...you CAN get Unlimited 3G WITHOUT having a postpaid plan. Now, I'm only paying RM99 per month for a 1.2Mbps connection smile.gif No postpaid plan tied up to it. They tried to hook me up to postpaid but I said "No Thanks" smile.gif

The quality depends on the area. As for me, I'm living in a remote new housing area where most people go for Maxis WBB and Celcom MWBB. And the best thing, most of them (that I know of) are not tech savvy and does not know this forum exist  sweat.gif

It's a little secret which Maxis will never reveal in their website  brows.gif
Btw, there is no commitment fee, termination fee, penalty whatsoever. If you're done with it...just terminate and say bye2. The only downside is that you have to get your own hsdpa modem.
*
eh ibnuasad, what do u tell them to upgrade to that plan?

i need unlimited 3g right now as im sick with the 3GB limitation because im doing my final year project, had to download lots of software (e.g IDS software) and linux ISOs and the 3GB is freaking limited to me.
