yeah also the offline storage cache option (mine is firefox dunno about others) should put it to maximum to reduce bandwidth usage.
*
can share how to use this option in firefox?

Yup, do not delete your browsing history. It would help to reduce the amount of data downloaded should you re-visit the same website again. What I do not like is most of the website having flash thingy that keep changing and it cause data tranmission to run it. So to avoid this, i use to faster click the object that you want to read..... heheheheheh... we should learn more how to browse in economically friendly... ahaksss! Hope the broadband market keep competitive and the businesses will pressing their balls to satisfy their customers.... as what european and american done.... heheheheh
*
hopefully they will give free upgrade to 3gb for the rm48 package.. rclxms.gif

It can be happen as long as we customers are united to always look for only the best option available and fair services. First thing, we need to remove 'Tidak Apa' attitude as we could not rest on our laurels.
*
very true.. it's time for all the sleeper users to wake up.. if the service sucks big time (streamyx), just cancel it..
once they lose the market share, only then they will start to provide much better services/etc.

hello guys, I am so frustrated at my maxis broadband connecting software, it is taking 88% of processes on my computer.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
*
if you search earlier post, few others using generic dashboard software for connection.
since i'm using maxis dashboard, cant really provide much help to you.

I duuno why my post didn't edited >.< Anyway, why cant local operator like SG that able to offer up to 50 GB bandwidth usage limit? I visit SG's singtel website to see their broadband plan , not bad i shall say as for youth like me , i just have to pay 20SGD+ then i will have 1.5 mbps ( g00d enough for me) of speed and also free a usb modem.
*
everything boil down to competition..
as you can see now, the wireless bb competition is getting more heated. thats why now all comes without contract and only throttle the speed once you hit the quota.
for wired bb, there is still no competition for tm. they monopoly this market, thts y the service sucks big time.

er i wanna ask whether playing game is counted as downloading anot, not facebook games but online games.
*
yes. as long there is data transfer (upload/download), it will eat up yr quota

maxis really, really sucks at my area, bdr puchong jaya, especially from 7-11pm. i guess it's the network 'rush hours', where everyone's back home from work...damned! worse, my area isn't due for upgrade as per maxis website says...

speed is bloody erratic...sometimes 3-7kbps, max 12kbps! Grrrrr.....felt like dumping the usb modem into dustbin!!! Forgetful chinese-m'sian am I....that cheap things no good, good things no cheap. No wonder RM48 ler....but i naively thought the 1-M'sia 'nasional broadband inisiatif' is finally up, walking their talk after all these years....yet, another fallacy it was...

Maxis should clean up its ears & listen well...lite users don't mean they're slow users. Heed this...Buck up or wrap up! (btw, this was sent to maxis feedback as well)
*
sad to hear about this.. first of all, did you check whether yr area have maxis hsdpa coverage?
i'm also using the rm48 package. so far i'm quite happy with it since i'm only paying rm48 monthly.

maybe it depends on where u stay, total maxis user on that area,,,..
*
gaming? r u referring to those fb games or those online games like warcraft/etc?

oh, its because of the comments from eguy here
seems that the 128kbps after capped is really unusable, i thought loading simple pictures and texts from lyn should be relatively ok. sad.gif
*
ic. for me, the capped speed is still ok to surf the net/etc..

Hello all,

Let's share our experience using maxisbb after reach the subscription limit... mine still under 1.5GB liao... I will try finish my quota when about 3 days before the billing cycle cloase> heheheheheh... then will let you all know what is the result
*
i hit the quota last week.. my next cycle date is around 23rd..
so far, i still can browse the net/etc but the speed will be slow.. sometimes it will time-off, and i just need to refresh the page.
guess being throttle is still far better than totally cannot online at all like last time..

i think it's typoe, it should be 16KBps instead..
for normal browsing, 16KBps is still ok provided you are not loading graphic n flash intensive site.

Just download ubuntu 10.04 LTS and install it. It would not destroy your windows OS as u can choose to side by side installation. Then configure system -> network connections -> choose Mobile Broadband... it pre-setup in this new version of ubuntu... I just try it out... rclxm9.gif
*
what does side by side installation means?
do i need to create another partition to install it?
