Added on June 11, 2008, 12:07 pmermm , not in terms of car crash, but the rule breaking...i remember many drivers break the red light in SC period, refuel when pit closed...i really think this rule should reconsidered seriously, personally feel the rules quite stupid...

talking bout SC, back in the days like in the 80's, there's no official SC. Its up to the organizer of the track. I remember watching Imola GP in the 80's - the SC was a Ferrari road car.. LOL

then a smart driver will take advantage of it : eg.

Lets say Sato was leading the race and the gap is 20 second to the second driver (Kimi). So sato was about to begin the 3rd sector when a crash at sector 2 brought the SC out. So the SC will be waiting at the end of pit lane to pick the lead car.

Sato can take advantage by diving straight into the pits for fuel and tyre and still be the first car behind the SC.

but this scenario rarely happens lar

Hamilton is super-quick no doubt abt that. But statements like that puts unnecessary pressure on himself to deliver and things will get worse if something goes wrong. Same when he said abt preparing for celebration for his first WDC prior Chinese GP. He end up in the most unthinkable place in the track....a gravel trap at the pit entry.

but that incident was totally caused by super duper stupid Mclaren team which didn't brought him into the pit when his intermediate tire wear out...

And 50% of the decision was Hamilton's. He thought the tyres could last him the super fast corners in Shanghai, but not the tight pit entry.
